I can understand it.
When Bama was going through our dark days of DuBose and Shula, we always pointed back at the glory years of Bryant to use as a cushion.
Auburn just uses a different fall mechanism - something they feel like they can boast about.
Both are irrelevant to the present state of the respective football programs, and both are very sad and yet extremely funny to onlookers.
It's really not that much different.

Auburn people love Auburn. I don't know what is so offensive about a community of people enjoying the company and shared ideals of each other.

Yea, that's what we laugh and shake our heads at.
You guys do realize there are large groups of people at other schools that are 4th and 5th generations graduates of their schools that love every piece of them, right? Every school outside of Auburn is not a mass of people rooting for their favorite sports team like they would the Jets or Ravens. For whatever reason Auburn people like to talk about their love of Auburn like it is some sort of mystic thing that nobody else has for their alma mater and nobody else can understand.
But hey, whatever gets you guys through the offseason.

Bama lost one game to OleMiss and I bitched and complained about our poor execution, our coaching and overall performance on the field. Bama should have played and executed better, the coaches should have coached better damnit!

Auburn - content to always live in a shadow, as long as they measure up every once in a while. Everything revolves around Bama.
What? You guys want that to be true so badly. Why is that?

Absolutely nothing wrong with it. Pretending that you somehow have a monopoly on this idea is laughable.

Nah brah you only care about the Tahd Football team you don't truly love Tuscaloosa or the University of Alabama. I'd try and explain it but you wouldn't understand.

If that was all the quote in the OP was about then I'd agree completely. But it wasn't, not even close. Talking about why you love/support Auburn is great, but his whine and attempt to denigrate Alabama fan's love of Alabama made it come across as nothing but holier than thou sour grapes.

Clearly you don't understand. I don't understand all that weird aggie shite, but they have a loyalty on another level than most of us. I think AU people love Auburn in a different way than the majority of Alabama people love UA.
You're superior at football, and if that is what matters most to you, I don't see why any of you would care about how Auburn people choose to invest and express their efforts and emotions to Auburn.

Quick, someone post the links to Pate's gameday broadcasts with Crowe for the A&M and Alabama games so we can all LOL.

That bothers you somehow? That we like being Auburn people despite losing a game? Why?

Because you act like no other fanbase loves their university like you do. You're special because Chizik came up with "Family, All In". Newsflash, we all love our universities just as much. There is nothing superior about your passion for your school than our passion for ours. This is something that Auburn fans try to rally around after things like last Saturday happen and it's hilarious.

We are more than happy for you to express how much you love Auburn. That's awesome. It's when you say things like "we love Auburn in a different way than Alabama love UA" that is such a damn laugher.

And??? That doesn't equate to everything revolving around UA.
