What? You guys want that to be true so badly. Why is that?
You can't be serious.
Go read the OP. Go take a look at your own message boards. Literally everything about Auburn revolves around everything to do with Alabama.
It's the only thing you people care about. That's fine. But don't pretend it isn't the case.

Absolutely nothing wrong with it. Pretending that you somehow have a monopoly on this idea is laughable.
We do have a monopoly on it the way that WE do it. So does TAMU. Arguably yall do yalls thing in a way that is unique to UA.

The most annoying thing about Auburn to me is this holier than thou attitude after each loss.
Sorry for not destroying/killing after losing?
Maybe it's not holier than thou, it's just proper perception?

Auburn people love Auburn. I don't know what is so offensive about a community of people enjoying the company and shared ideals of each other.
Sounds like the Branch Davidians.
In all seriousness, it's such an elitist mindset that Auburn people have.

That's not how the argument generally goes, but sure.
Your spiritual love for Auburn is no different than the way my family and I love Alabama and have for 150 years. But hey, like I said, whatever makes the offseason go by faster.

Because you act like no other fanbase loves their university like you do. You're special because Chizik came up with "Family, All In". Newsflash, we all love our universities just as much. There is nothing superior about your passion for your school than our passion for ours. This is something that Auburn fans try to rally around after things like last Saturday happen and it's hilarious.
Again, I find it weird that you think it's weird that we try to remember that football is a game and that we like Auburn for reasons other than football. So maybe we are different.

Haha, nobody in here is saying our way is better, we're just saying it is our way. Everyone else is automatically talking about how elitist it is to chant that it's still great to be an Auburn tiger after we lose a football game.
Why? Inherent in that concept is the idea that we prefer being Auburn to being whatever you are, a feeling that I'm sure you all share about your respective schools.
So in the end, we do the chants and you don't. It's for us, it's not for you. So I have no idea why it would bother anyone.

It's basically like a close knit private school in West Georgia.
Except for the academics, size, and student housing. Other than that, just like a private school.

I do like a lot of things about auburn that aren't related to football.
I can only guess I'm lying to myself?

By all means, tell me what is objectionable about that comment. Someone posted it was ridiculous that we still War Eagle each other when we lose. How is that ridiculous?

When Bama was going through our dark days of DuBose and Shula, we always pointed back at the glory years of Bryant to use as a cushion.
I remember when the most common knock against Bama was that the fans were living in the past. The Auburn thing is a little different though. Auburn fans act as though they don't care about football after a loss. They act as though the university is really a closely knit community bound together by shared ideals, when in reality it's no different than any other public school in the SEC. It's this "we're so special and quantifiably morally superior" mindset that irritates me. Living in the past is common, see Tennessee. At least in the SEC, this is unique to Auburn.

See, you're delusional. You want it to be true, but it's no different than UA. You're stuck in a mindset of vicarious superiority, so naturally you think everyone wants to be like you.

I give zero fricks about UA, and my post history will reflect that. I have zero envy for your team or institution.

It just cracks me up when I hear some kid from Alpharetta or Woodstock that didn't care the first thing about Auburn until he was 17 and didn't get in to UGA try and tell me how his love of Auburn is just different and about more than football compared to my love of Alabama, a campus I (and others) visited and dreamed about being at since we were 4 years old.
It's just such a laughable crock of shite.

Rob Pate was my eye doctor when I lived in Bham
Super nice guy, but definitely a bit of a homer.
Not sure why this warranted a post from the OP?
