Once I went to Rob Pate's Optometry Practice in Hoover, AL. When I found out who he was and some of things he has written I never went back.
For the record, Dr. Rob actually asked me what team I pulled for.. He showed me his book that he had written, "A Tigers Walk," I threw up in my mouth a little and took my business elsewhere.
I cannot stand it when Auburn Fans, Former Players, Alumni or Sidewalk Alumni feel morally superior toward other fan bases.
Each SEC University is special to their fan bases.

Auburn people love auburn. That's fricking great man. Guess what? Alabama people love alabama. Texas people love texas. Lsu people love lsu. So on and so forth. This ideology that auburn is unique in their unbridled love for their university is just laughable.
That love you all feel for auburn isn't unique you morons, you've just never been a fan of anyone else to know that.

It's because they're fricking morons.
It's not hard to understand how they feel about their fricking school. Stay with me here, but I have the same thing going on with FSU. I'm from Lakeland, Florida...and live in St Pete. Every man on my mom's side are farmers in Shelby, Mississippi, and you can hear the river from their cabin porches. My dad is from Anniston, and his entire family lives all throughout Alabama. So, I love the South and everything about it.
My friends and I make fairly regular trips to Tallahassee during football season. I get in my truck here in St. Pete... it's loud, busy, and 80 degrees. And when I get to my friends house in Tallahassee it's fricking amazing. It's cool outside, trees everywhere and their leaves have actually changed colors. I can wake up and eat breakfast on a real porch. Then head into campus and get ready for a fun day of tailgating and football. It's the closest thing I can get to the feeling I love of being in the South. And words can't describe how happy, content, and at ease I am when I'm there. Auburn retards aren't the only people who can get this feeling
And I get it while having no feelings for the actual university. Don't give a rats arse about the people(other than the ridiculous amount of beautiful women) and absolutely HATE their football program 80% of the time.

Yeah, but part of their little gimmick is that loving Auburn takes more work, more dedication, and is the tougher 'pick' between the two state schools. Like there is some sort of honor or valor in choosing the 'underdog.'
In their painting of the picture, loving Alabama is more common (true, more people pull for Bama than Auburn), more sidewalk...it's the default pick for Alabamians unless they choose to go against the grain - to go with the smaller, more exclusive 'family' fanbase of Aub. And because of that, Bama fans are redneck sheep.
In reality it's all just a bunch of frikken ra ra ra crap to make you feel good about your pick.
The irony of the situation is that they claim to be so in love with Auburn, yet they sure spend a lot of time thinking about Alabama - photoshopping Alabama A's onto toilet seats and/or documenting, on their daily outings, with their camera phone, every redneck they come across wearing an Alabama A.
