I went to the LSU game this past year at Kyle and thought it was a great atmosphere but not intimidating or disruptive. Too many coordinated cheers, whoops and singing as been posted.

When Tiger Stadium is loud you can't hear the person beside you screaming in your ear. That is the definition of loud to most LSU fans.

That LSU game last year was strange. I don't think most aTm fans knew if they were any good at that point, so it was very cordial and not much of a big game atmosphere. Plus it was at 11am.

Last year's LSU game was a bit pedestrian noise wise. It seemed like the early start kind of held it back.

Football is not meant to be played before Noon.

I also agree with the sentiment that Bama won't be bothered by the noise at all. They have certainly played in enough harsh environments. It may fire up our team though.

I would put ATM just behind LSU and Florida. Its in the same group of Auburn, SC, UGA, tennessee and Bama. Noise doesn't seem to effect teams like alabama and LSU. As seen by the home records. ITs a shame it is a day game, that takes a little of the energy out of the crowd as well.

You guys have to realize... We don't get loud unless there is a reason or a 4th down where the 12th man needs to disrupt something.

We do our organized stuff regularly. If someone gets hurt(serious), you can hear a pin drop. Strange but unique atmosphere.

Daytime crowd will not be as loud as the night would be. I was there last year when we beat the Aggies in their own turf and it was not that bad during the day, especially when you get the lead on them. The big issue most fans will be dealing with will be the hot arse weather that both sides will endure in that heat at 2:30pm and the sorry restroom and concession access...

All stadiums I've been at when a serious injury happens gets dead quiet. Prothro going down was the quietest I've ever heard a stadium.

Quietest moment I've ever seen at Kyle was during a band reunion probably 10 years ago. They had a bunch of old BQs marching with the current FTAB on the field. One of them had a heart attack during the performance and you could have heard a pin drop clear on the other side of the stadium, it was eerily quiet for that many people.

What often gets overlooked--by younger Ags as well as by visitors--is the fact that the Zone addition altered the acoustics of Kyle Field in unexpected ways. Although capacity rose from 72K to 85K, volume didn't increase.

However, absolute volume has never been the real strength of the 12th Man at Kyle. First, it's the yells in unison. That kind of coordination can be disconcerting to visiting teams. More importantly, though, is that the noise is relentless when the visitors have the ball, then drops substantially when the Ags are on offense.

It's funny, but Stallings actually asked the students to be quiet when the other team had the ball waaaaay back in the game. He thought noise was an unfair advantage at the time.

At one time it was also against the rules. The crowd could earn itself a 15 yard penalty (edit: I know you could get a penalty, not sure it was 15 yards) if it was too loud for the QB to communicate with his own players.

It's pretty loud. Not LSU or Florida loud, but in that next tier with Auburn, Tennessee and Alabama

I think it's realistic to put LSU, Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, Auburn, Alabama and Tennessee above A&M in terms noise level.

Agreed. I wasn't impressed.

Exactly why y'all were booing our injured players last year, right?

i don't think it's fair to judge them by an 11am game.

i have a cousin that went to a&m and i went to a few games there back in the early 2000's, including a big win against Oklahoma in i think 2002. It was very loud. Different as some said because of the chanting and singing, but it got loud. Not LSU or Florida loud, but in that next level.

Real answer: Its loud, its not going to impress though. On the field is louder than the stands. With the redesign though, it will be the loudest in CFB.

The OP asked if opposing fans who have attended at game at A&M thought it was loud. I understand why A&M are taking this personal. They have some great unique traditions and work hard to support their team. However passion for their team does not equate to loudness in the stadium and I don’t believe changes to their stadium will change this.

I have been to games at A&M and games siting in the A&M fans section in the superdome. Their fans are nice and friendly but not loud. Each time I was able to hold normal conversations and could easily hear what others were saying around me. It’s not hard to make it loud in the superdome and I just didn’t hear it from them. I have been in similar situations with other fan basses and many were louder.

While A&Ms organized cheers are unique I think they stifle the passion and energy A&M fans have for their team. The noise from other stadiums and fan basses is louder and more intense. Their passion flows freely, unchecked and is raw emotion.

Uncontrolled energy is dangerous loud and explosive….

Controlled energy is slowly released and harnessed while its full potential is always in check….

Most fans bases intensity and cheering is uncontrolled energy and it is just more intense. A&M is controlled predictable energy that usually remains in check. Hey there a great engineering school and it shows in their systematic management of this energy.

You identify yourself as a Bama fan and I am talking about Aggie fans. Interesting you would use the word "we". My experience in Tuscaloosa wasn't so pleasant.

Went to LSU @ A&M last year. I thought it was pretty loud but nothing extraordinary.

The best part for me was the military type drum beat that starts during the pregame when the players are about to take the field. That was a nice touch. I felt like a war was about to start.

After the game it was weird how fine with the loss the A&M fans were. Most of the other SEC schools take it much harder.

But overall it was a first class place. If I didn't have family in Louisiana, I bet there or Lake Conroe area would be a good place to live.
