Not near as much seating in that stadium.

They are two blocks apart in OKC.

I understand the appeal of the GA Dome/Benz and ATL's location, but Nashville's three stadiums and their location(s) are better for the fans.

Autozone Park is a great facility. And Memphis has better air service than bham. But the lack of tailgating and RV facilities is a bummer.

The number of times Hoover has 12,000 actual in attendance is very small. Let alone the 8500 or so that Regions Park holds.

I find it rather comical that the year bids are out, Hoover made sure that the park looked as nice as possible.

the new Sounds stadium is top notch. Hoover's location is convenient, but there's nothing to do there after the game.

I just think it's not fair to all the other teams that it's in Alabama every year. Most fans from every school far away can't go. It seems that the SEC (of course based in Alabama) always gives the Gumps preference. Spread the wealth. It's a league, not a one man show.

Boohoo

What is it with LSU fans and fairness? Your fanbase uses the fair card in most every argument.

A. Anybody who wants it in Memphis hasn't thought it through. I've been in that part if town many times. The FIRST night in Memphis someone would be robbed or stabbed. I worked down the street on a start-up and I promptly moved to olive branch for my month stay. Awful city for anything. Ditto for new orleans. Only an idiot walks around New Orleans at night. Hoover eliminates an issue with safety.

B. I think most people want it moved to pacify their hatred for all things bama. They really don't care just get it out of bans. I don't see near the bitching about the football game being in Atlanta but saban doesn't coach there.

C. Lots of folks on here and listening to what they consider a "fun" town are on the verge of rehab. When you're planning your trips around where the bars are u have bigger problems than where a game is played.

So what would happen if the Grizzlies were to go deep into the NBA playoffs and it occurred the same week as the baseball tourney? The Commish mentioned that during his in-game interview yesterday.

I was in OKC for a family reunion two nights ago and went and watched the Thunder game. The Big XII Final was also Saturday. Bricktown Ballpark and Chesapeake Arena are less than half a mile from eachother. Everything was just about as packed as it is for a Stars game in Dallas. Perfectly reasonable and fun.

This is the type of bullshite statement I'm talking about. Bama has the baseball tourney. Do you bitch and moan constantly about the basketball tourney in Nashville and the
football game in ATL? Probably not. Shut the frick up. You have the dam Sugar Bowl which features an SEC team. Nobody bitches when LSU goes and that they have a home field advantage. LSU just bitches because they are still so p'd off about Saban. No other reason. I dont like to have to go the MSY for the Sugar Bowl but dam, I'm not gonna go on a crusade to move it out of that shithole that is New Orlenas. Grow up junior.

Unless you're going to every game, there's a lot of down time when your team is there. I've been twice from Wednesday-Sunday when LSU has been in either the late night, or early morning game and also had an off day. You're looking for things to do.

It's more like 20-25. And longer in post-game traffic leaving the Met.

Then move it to Frisco. No crime. And a short drive to Ft. Worth or Dallas.

Or Alabama is just boring. It's not like anyone is clamouring for the basketball tournament to go to Birmingham. Bama sucks at basketball and baseball equally, so it's a pretty fair comparison. They want to move it to "pacify their hatred" for all things boring, not all things Bama.

This might surprise you, but environment matters. When people spend their money, they like to enjoy themselves.

Do you have a car? If so you're not looking very hard for things to do. Perhaps you can tell me what type things you would like to do and I will be more than happy to provide a list of available options in the Bimrmingham metro area.

I'm genuinely curious: Why is this always listed as THE salient issue?
How many people are we talking about--100? 500?
The percentage is so small, it's a bizarre variable.
On one hand, people complain that it's ridiculous for folks to want to be able to walk to restaurants/bars, but on the other, they argue the need of a handful of people to camp out at the stadium.

It's not ridiculous, but it borders on it when that is the main argument to move it.

I've been plenty of times. And I have a car. But you keep ignoring the convenience aspect.

In Nashville, I can stay downtown and walk to the stadium. Have plenty of local food options, museums, CM HoF, music venues, and bars on Broadway. Golf is a short drive away.

In Hoover, I can stay at the Galleria, and walk to the Hibachi restaurant.

I don't mind Hoover/Bham being on the rotation of parks, but some variety with other parks would be nice.

Drove 6 hours on Friday morning with two buds all mid 20s to watch the Fri-Sat games. Stayed on the outskirts of Birmingham and Used Uber to go to stadium and to hit up the nightlife in the Lakeview area. People who are saying there's nothing fun to do in the area at night either have never been or don't know how to have fun. We had an absolute blast both nights.
