People saying there is nothing to do, I was wondering what they wanted to do that they cant do because its in hoover?

Snow Board, Parasail, Surf?

In planning and discussing major events like tournaments, conventions/conferences, Super Bowls/sports championships, etc., a proximal entertainment district is always a main topic of consideration.

This conversation is interesting, but predictable.
The posters who are pro-Hoover usually live in AL or MS.
Those against it are typically residents of Ark, LA, TX, TN, SC, FL, & GA.
Ultimately, I think a rotation is the ideal scenario, but the SEC office isn't going to contact me for my opinion.

This is the type of bullshite statement I'm talking about. Bama has the baseball tourney. Do you bitch and moan constantly about the basketball tourney in Nashville and the
football game in ATL? Probably not. Shut the frick up. You have the dam Sugar Bowl which features an SEC team. Nobody bitches when LSU goes and that they have a home field advantage. LSU just bitches because they are still so p'd off about Saban. No other reason. I dont like to have to go the MSY for the Sugar Bowl but dam, I'm not gonna go on a crusade to move it out of that shithole that is New Orlenas. Grow up junior.

How old are you? Do you TRULY think the ONLY reason someone would rather spend their time and money in Nashville as opposed to Birmingham is because of a college football coach? Seriously? You're either a grown man that is so immature they cry when a school they didn't attend loses a football game, or you're a menopausal female that's two whiskeys deep.

The funniest part is you think you're being insightful about developing this conclusion. You think you are calling out LSU fans for being immature and petty. This is a classic case of people accusing others of the things they are guilty of. You think it's plausible an entire fan base would act so petty and immature because YOU YOURSELF are that petty and immature. You are the kind of person that gets emotionally worked up at an Auburn fan walking down the street. Think about that. Your emotions flair from a T-shirt. They do marketing studies on people like this. Show them a picture of a politician or a pop figure they don't like or and the center of their brains tied to emotion overwhelm them. They are so dumb that they'll agree to anything. Chimpanzees have better control of their emotions. You're the kind of person that develop a narrative about how every Auburn head coach is a horrible person within a month of them being hired and go on and on about how much you hate Auburn at parties. You talk in real life like people do on message boards. You're the kind of guy that waits in line for hours to see Nick Saban walk by so you can sneak an autograph. You're the kind of guy that goes on vacation decked head to toe in Alabama gear, and when a stranger tries to shoot the shite with you about college football, you get super aggressive if they are anything but gump level enthusiast about the Tide.

Swamp kittens are obnoxious and have an inflated sense of value to an alarmingly high degree... but nothing like you. No one gives a frick about Nick Saban regarding the baseball tournament.

I've even said if they were hell bent on keeping it in Birmingham just move it to Regions Field downtown.

Next reply will be "but what about the RVs?!"

Let's just move the Super Bowl to Omaha every year. It's centrally located.

Let me preface this by saying I attend this event every year, for the last 10 at least.

Hoover is not the most central location for the new SEC. Memphis is more centrally located. It's ballpark is waaaaay better than Hoover and it is located in an area with many hotels and eateries as well as entertainment.

Let Memphis have a shot at hosting.

I say a big NO to Kenner as a host.

Nashville and Frisco, TX would be OK as well although Frisco is probably too far west.

If they care about attendance and central location, they should centrally locate it to the fanbases that give a shite: LSU, state, aTm, piss, arkansas.

No one else cares. SCAR is a regular season and NCAA tourney school obviously.

Never said it was, but contrary to 96% of Louisiana's belief, the Birmingham metro area is not backwards and full of nothing to do.

This makes no sense. Comparing the biggest sporting event in the world to the SEC baseball tournament is asinine. The Super Bowl is usually played in a dome or warm weather stadium in the South.

Hoover has done a great job

Need to rotate it with Hoover in rotation

New Orleans would be tough to pull off, no RV parking, hotels are far away

Looks like Memphis will get the next 4 year run.

Meh. Too far West doesn't really matter now with the SEC Network. People either care enough to make the trip or they don't. Bid it out to rotating locations that pay the most. If Frisco is one of them, so be it.

Lmao at airline highway getting it. That's worse than Hoover.

The Met is marginally better than Zephyr Field, but NOLA has got it all over Hooverville.

Then you obviously have never been out in Birmingham

I never said it was either. If you couldn't pick up on the sarcasm in my post, I don't know what to tell you.

But when I walk out of my hotel in Hoover and would like to catch Game 6 of the OKC/Warriors game, my options are Buffalo Wild Wings, and an Applebees.

I enjoy Nashville but I honestly hope it doesn't move there. I'm there often for work and way to often I have to pay $250- $300 per night. I'm afraid if it ends up in Nashville you are going to lose attendance..especially for Tuesday to Thursday.

Why do you have to walk? There is a Sports Tap bar just down the road, a Twin Peaks up at Patton creek and various other sports bar options within a 2-3 minute drive from where you are.
