Who would have ever guessed that Baton Rouge was affluent enough to have a Whole Foods

Whole Foods is your measuring stick?
Athens has a Fresh Market, an Earth Fare, Trader Joe's, and several other local organic/trendy grocery stores including Daily Grocery Co-Op, Bread Basket, The Healthy Gourmet, and Fooks Foods.

You're comparing a state capital to one of the best college towns in the country.
Congrats on being a state capital.

Baton Rouge is probably the only city in the US where people have been robbed at Whole Foods and TJ

Yea, Athens doesn't have a Whole Foods (yet). I wouldn't be surprised if it soon got one though, with the Epps Bridge shopping center expanding later this year.
