700 yards splitting carries in a backfield with a heisman winner is pretty good.

Fans of other teams hype him up as much as we do.

FWIW I did not think he was nearly our best back in 2009. The stats bear it out, even with 100 or so more carries Ingram still averaged more than a yard more per carry. Trent was just a bull that year, Mark was far more advanced in his cuts and his vision.

But Trent may have been better last year. At least till he got hurt in the LSU game.

BTW JonnyB=obvious Auburn fan alter

um. McCalleb had 800 and Dyer had 1100 sharing a backfield with a Heisman winner.

Funny i actually think Dyer is over-rated. Dyer is like a poor mans Ingram. He has the straight line power but no wiggle or juke to him. It must have been a bad year in backs for him to get rated so high in last years recruiting class, he is no where near as impressive as Lattimore has been this year. He just has a much better line in front of him. It will be a wake up call on Dyer next year.

We will see just how good the AU offense really is next year.

They also had four seniors on the offensive line to run behind. Ingram had over 1,600 yards in 2009 and Richardson finished with about 900 yards with a veteran offensive line. Those tend to make a difference.

And comparing a running spread yardages to a pro-set offense is silly.

If you are tacking on the Heisman winner too, then add another 14 to 1500 yards for Newton on the ground.

@ that idiot Joey. Richardson actually had a slightly better YPC avg compared to Dyer. The point of that post was the line is what helped Dyer so much, but i guess you were too dumb to comprehend the entire post. Next year you will see a big sophomore slump with that O-line gone and without Cam another running threat being in the backfield with him. Post with your brain next time your girly emotions.

Exaggerate much????

TR finished 2009 with 749 yds in 14 games. He averaged 53 yds/game.

6.25 to 6.01

Holy shite............... what a fricking badass TR is because of that................ he may have never hit 1,000 yds in a season............ but by god, his +.24 avg/carry makes him a fricking badass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So does that mean that McCallebb > TR........ I mean he did lead the SEC in yds/carry

I agree that the OL makes a difference, but great backs overcome the shortfalls of bad OL play. Bama's passing game should have made up for a poor OL, and created chances for the RBs. I think bama's passing game suffered because of the running game.

Most games Dyer did not touch the ball until the 2nd quarter, same in the BCSCG.

Not really. The only great back that ever did shite with a bad OL was Barry Sanders.
