Clemson even played pretty well in the second half, and we just answered every single time. Stevenson himself hit 3 threes in the second half. His first one came right after Clemson had cut the lead to 49-47. His second came after they’d cut the lead to 52-49. His third came right after they’...

I cannot believe how good Stevenson was. 19 points in that big of a moment - unbelievable. He carried us in the first half. Also just can’t believe we finally made the Final Four. ...

The big four guys were just awesome - what a performance. With Wrightsell out, Griffen had to show up, and he was great. The Ryan kid from Duke central casting hounded Sears all night, and he was still efficient and he still came up with two monster back to back possessions down 85-82 (blew ...

We’re only committing 12.3 turnovers per game. Last year it was 13.8, was 13.9 in 2020-2021 and over 14 the other Oats years. And we’re playing super fast as usual. We just don’t throw the ball out of bounds that much, so possessions keep ending with these awesome shooters shooting open shots. ...
Will never complain if it's called fairly.
I just want to know what a foul is, what you can get away with. It’s never going to be 100% consistent, but the most annoying is when it’s constantly veering back and forth between a tight whistle and a free for all. ...

There sure is a lot of contact being allowed in this game. Not even much of a complaint. We are getting away with being pretty physical on defense, especially helping on some of the ball screens. If it’s consistently called, that’s fine....

We have three starters shooting 40% from 3, and they all attempt at least 4.6 3s per game. Sears: 44% on 5.1 attempts Wrightsell: 42% on 4.8 attempts Griffen: 40% on 4.6 attempts In a random comparison, the 2010-2011 team (which was a relatively fun team) only had two guys attempt more than...
He has waaaay more potential than Petty did driving to the basket. Petty had an incredibly loose handle. Griffen is also an inch or two taller and I'd say he's generally more athletic. Keon Ellis is probably a closer comparison and he's hanging around on a pretty good Kings team.
...

Sears was so good, again. When they made a little run with 10 minutes left to push the lead back out to 13 a few times, he just runs off 5 straight points to keep us right there. Sears, Rylan, and Nelson were all excellent in the second half. Good luck dealing with that. ...

Sears went 1-5 from 3 and still controlled the game. He’s just so much better this year at using his strength to get to the rim in an under control way. He’s just so much better this year in general. Wrightsell had a fantastic first half and is just a good player. ...

Sears has just been ridiculous. A 6 foot guard putting up 20.3 ppl on this shooting: 54.5% FG 59% on 2s 49% on 3s 83% FT 4.2 RB, 3.6 assists (2.0 turnovers), 1.5 steals Leads the SEC in PPG, 3 point %, effective field goal % (is 3rd in True Shooting %), Free Throws made, win shares, offe...

Turner was starting to physically dominate the LT a bit as the half went on. He and Braswell were both getting good pushes consistently. Stop the run, hit the QB, and basically keep doing what we’re doing on offense. ...

Still early, but it’s kind of interesting that we’re 87th in kenpom’s adjusted tempo stat. Feels like we’ve lived in the top 10 of that one for years. We’re being incredibly efficient though. Stevenson has a very high offensive ceiling. I don’t know that he’ll have Clowney’s defensive impact, bu...

With Stevenson, I was expecting a stretch 4/5 that could protect the rim, but he can also create his own shot, create for others, take a rebound coast to coast and dunk on you, etc. He has some serious wow moments. Maybe this was all expected, and I just haven’t followed recruiting closely enoug...
