The Texas LHN isn't going to be around long. It is a terrible model to broadcast sports and ESPN is losing millions and millions of dollars with their terrible choice.

Single university channels using the model of the LHN doesn't work.

Its going to take the sips a while to really understand how badly they've misplayed everything.

its like how the Bush family still cant admit out loud that going to Iraq was a horrible move long term.

ESPN might not mind. It kept Texas away from that PAC Network that the conference owns.

I just went to ShaggyBevo to view Texas response to this. They still don't think they're at a disadvantage.
You can stand them up in the gates of hell, and they won't back down. In the world of college football that see's them for what they really are, they will stand their ground. There's no easy way out for Texas now, they have no choice but to ride this thing out.....while the SEC gets richer.

The need weak-sisters willing to play them for scraps. Currently that includes: OU OSU TCU Baylor ISU WVU KU KSU
Add TTU.

Except some of the weak sisters didn't get the memo ... Baylor, OU (if including them in the weak sister category), K State, TCU.

That whole 'our worst years are better than their best years' egotism not currently working out.

What did they misplay?

They had a couple of weaker sisters who left and made a better deal for themselves.

Texas recruits nationally. It's never been easier to see games on TV. Nothing outside the won loss record has made Texas less attractive to recruits than would have occurred if A&M and Mizzou had stayed.

its been repeated over and over here and in other threads you've been in.

if you cant grasp what Texas did to screw up yet you are either being willfully ignorant or are just as shortsighted and stupid as Dodds was.

I'm asking you. Because I am wondering where you are coming from.

If it's too tough a question, that's fine.

I expect the revenues from the SEC network to go down in the future if they don't improve their programming. I think it would be great if they did more on campus reporting with lots of smokin' hot coeds. Alumni and men 14 to 60 would tune in.

exactly why do you need to me to put my own spin on what has been repeated here ad nauseam?

Bring the sex appeal to the SECN - do it now ESPN! Horny boys & men need something besides Paul Finebalms bald head.

Well that isn't true, thanks to ESPN's backhand dealing with Fox.

A game like the Ole Miss game would have been on a major sports network in say 2009. Period. It wouldn't have been pay-per-view. When that game got shoved on the LHN, the exposure went down.

Recruiting is a zero-sum game. Us leaving and being a more attractive destination certainly makes Texas less attractive as a result.

Did we undo Texas or something? No way. But to say nothing changed for Texas is disingenuous.

Seems like Missouri's TV sets played a large part in the value of the SECN

Let's bow to our Yankee overlords

It's been a home run move for both schools.

I really hated to see the Big 8 get destroyed and piecemealed the way it did - and do feel sorry for some of the dwarfs we left behind - but Big Tex is getting everything they deserve right now. The LHN is a dry well, indeed.

If Texas had half a brain they would end the longhorn network and set up a Big 12 network.

Outside of Texas, nobody gives a rat's arse about Texas.

And outside of the XII, nobody gives a rat's arse about the XII.

As for an XII Network... I'm not sure there's enough in-state population across their footprint to make much money.

They're a collection of bad market schools that are dying a slow motion death as the unwilling concubines of Texas.

I've watched baseball games not involving Arkansas several times this year, and I know several fanbases have lots of strong fans for all different sports.

I've done the same. Watched LSU, Arkansas, and Mizzou games. Nice having that watch ESPN app.

Work, work, work, Sarge. 60 hour a week stuff. How have you been?

One thing nobody's mentioned about the Whorn decline and A&M incline is, what happens if Aggie start to win big?

Ya'all could stunt them for the next 10-20 years.
