They went undefeated in an extremely strong West and had Cam Newton.

I think they're generally underrated by most.

The west looked strong if you're just counting the ranked teams. It was still unquestionably the worst Alabama team of the last 4 years, LSU was much better the following year, and you could easily argue the same for Arkansas. Even South Carolina and Georgia were better the year after.

2008 UF is way too low on some of these lists.

LSU beat them the first time around in Tuscaloosa.

In a very, very close game, no?

Clearly LSU could play with them.

Clearly? Shutout in the biggest game of the year?

When you're the team looking for revenge, you tend to have a little something extra that the other team doesn't have. Yes, it was a very close game the first time. But LSU actually drove Bama backwards and didn't even surrender a field goal in OT. Remember, everybody basically thought the first game was for all the marbles.

Bama was great in the 2nd game and had the revenge factor. Also, it would be hard to believe that Les would coach like that big of a pu$$ again in a big game with the beating he took after that one.

Agree with the thought that 2010 Auburn belongs in the lower part of the list. That teams was a hair's breath away from losing 4-5 games that year. Outside the beatdown on SC in the SEC championship, they were not a dominating team that year.

14 points was the highest scored against them, that's absurd.
5 shutouts. Also absurd. Over the course of an entire season they allowed less than a touchdown per game. Read 'em and weep

That was an incredible D. But unless I missed something, Georgia Southern scored 21 on them. Also, I think they had 3 shutouts and not 5.

2003 lsu would stomp 09 bama. Come on. That 2003 lsu defense had the second lowest ppg than any sec defense since the bcs. 10 of the 11 starters went on to START in the nfl( not just drafted ).

You have 2011 bama team that wasn't the best team in its division. You're stupid.

And the best team in LSU history couldn't score a single TD against Alabama in 8 quarters.

Once again, 2003 lsu would stomp 2011 lsu

Yes after LSU had beat them on their on field. Bama would not of played another team like that. If people do not think college football is about emotions they are kidding themselves!!!

You don't know football very well if you think anyteam on that list was close to Bama 2011 , we won games by like 28 points a game margins , not running up scores.

One of the weakest schedules in the history of BCS champions....didn't run up scores?? Rewatch the Georgia Southern game where they threw a touchdown pass with AJ McCarron with 45 seconds remaining in game.

They were pretty good, but they had their scares too. I wish they could have been tested by USC or OU instead of gimp Beamer Ball where you guys failed to make a statement.

A scare. A. Singular. Every other game wasn't even close.

I don't understand the love for 2010 Auburn.
By far the worst defensive team on the list and I'm pretty sure they had more one score wins than any other team.

And I am pretty sure they had one fewer loss than most every other team on that list!

So a hair's breath away from losing 4-5 games is worse than actually losing 1 or 2, huh?

First intelligent post in this entire thread, kudos!

How people keep saying that teams that lost 1 or 2 games somehow did better than the teams that actually went undefeated is beyond understanding.

So, lets see. 2011 bama team that lost a game and didnt even win the conference title over an undefeated 98 UT.

A 2012 bama team that lost a game over an undefeated 98 UT.

My Gawd!
