Based on the observation that teams with a physical offensive lines can push the LSU front around.

It's been the same for a while now. Not just last year.

Seven times in 2014 and 2015 LSU gave up over 200 yards rushing.
Nine times in 2014 and 2015 LSU gave up over 150 yards rushing.

Alanama rushing defense(YPC)

2016 - #1
2015 - #10
2014 - #15
2013 - #1
2012 - #1
2011 - #9
2010 - #5
2009 - #2

Their rushing defense will always be good/great under Saban.

Well what reasoning do you have for this not being the case?

And yet a&m is rated ahead of LSU's??

By all means can you please provide me with A&m's rushing defensive stats the past two seasons vs LSU in total?

I'd love love love to see that.. but a&m gets ranked ahead because they have two elite pass rushing ends?

We allowed fewer conference points than you. Both our ends are better than yours and we have more depth at the DT position.

Here's 2015.. And keep in mind LSU returns everyone

let me go get 2014...

LSU made huge strides with Coach O, yet a&m still remains bottom of the pack in rushing D.. they get ran all over.

LSU is easily a top 5 defensive line considering everyone returned and they have one of the better d-line coaches in the league.. and their sacks totals went way up from a season prior with that defensive coach hire.

I agree until proven otherwise Alabama is #1

you want to use points as a determination?
points are not the best telling stat.. considering teams can win big and play relaxed defense late.

Your rushing D gave up 19 TDs to our 14 TDs..

And? Your soft defense gave up more points in literally every comparable game.

I feel pretty good about our pass rushers. I think it'll be our strength over run stopping.

Really?

I have always thought the strength was in that run stopping.

Auburn should look much better, but will wait to see it first.

Want to know some more fun stats from just last season?

A&m had 34 total sacks..

LSU had 34 total sacks and that was with 1 less game.. a game against a cupcake in which they could have easily added to that total.

Cool story bro.

One of our defensive ends had more conference forced fumbles on running backs and QBs than basically your entire DL combined.

Cool individual effort with the forced fumbles. LSU still plays better on the line as a team.

You are still getting ran all over and you aren't even getting more sacks than LSU.. who is trending up again..

I look forward to yet another season of a&m getting absolutely ran all over.

So considering we return Evevyone on the DL minus one role player and added 2 4* and 1 5* DL we should be pretty close to the top of this list
