1. Bama - LSU may return more experience, but it's two different styles. Thus stats will not be in LSU's favor often. Thats not why though. bama had the better defense and they have quality backups that can fill those roles.

2. LSU - sick nasty beastly... And most of all still VERY hungry after the disappointing night.

3. UGA- solid defense all around. Should be only getting better.

4. USCe - love the Dline, but I'm interested to see their young secondary.

Idk the rest.

Florida being vastly underrated here after finishing in the top 10 in total defense with a bunch of new starters all over the ball.

They return 10 starters and will be in year two of the new system. They'll be one of the best defenses in the SEC.

The SEC will be LOADED with good defense next year though.

Totally agree. The performance against FSU was one of the most impressive defensive performances I've ever seen and they improved throughout the season.

Wouldn't be surprised to see UF finish as the #2 OR #3 D in the SEC next year.

Memphis, I agree with you but, if they would have kept 1st Half stats and 2nd Half Stats LSU would have had the better Stats in the 2nd Half Bama had the 1st Half. LSU was always better in the 2nd Half except the CG they had more depth than anyone they played in the 2nd Half in every Game.

I believe LSU will be better across the board next Year than this past Year. The reason being better QB and an open Offensive style of play to go with the power running Game. I am not ready to say they will be better on Defense until we see if they have the depth they had this past year. LSU's Offense will help the Defense a lot. They will have the ability to make long time consuming drives or be able to score quickly with a better Passing Game. JMHO!

Yeah I think your secondary will be even with Bama's. Bama keeps Lester and Milliner, LSU keeps Taylor and Mathieu. Taylor is probably the worst of LSU's starting DBs this past season, imo (wasn't bad at all, just saying the worst, same goes for...), and DeQuan was probably Bama's worst. Tharold Simon isn't that great imo, seems he's about as good as Phelon Jones or Fulton, which is about average.

Simon is a stud, we keep Reid another stud, Loston will be better than Taylor book it, just lose the leadership, just need another corner cause Mathieu will mostly play nickel...Simon will be all SEC qst team next year...RR said he was the hardest CC he went up against in practice...kids is legit...i just hope our LBs' improve...

I wish we would move Honey badger to safety. Have Jenkins/collins lock down one side and Simon on the other. Bring in Vinson like we did Ron brooks. I'm not sold on Loston fitting our system.

LSU did not have better defensive stats than Bama in the second half of games for 2011.

UF was #9 in total defense but #25 in scoring defense. Our defense was put in a lot of short field positions with all of the turnovers on offense.

He is a better Safety than a CB. His biggest weakness is pass coverage.

Here's where it's strange.

A&M led the nation in sacks per game as well as total sacks, and 67th in pass efficiency defense, yet was one of the worst teams in the country in passing yardage allowed.

Our best cover corner, Coryell Judie, only played 5 games due to injury, and the Oklahoma State game may have been different had he been able to play. We only had seven whole interceptions on the year and two fumble recoveries.

So if TAMU does not get a sack then it is a completion.

We were third in the conference this year and return 10 starters. Bama will be good but they lose a ton. We will be a top 2 defense in the SEC this year. There really isn't any reason to think otherwise.

You were third in the conference because you didn't have to face ANY of the top 3 teams from the SEC-W!

Scheduling office must be run by either Richt's or Bobo's mom.

I would expect 2013 UGA schedule to include Bama or LSU.

Florida was a very young team this past season. They'll contend for the East this year. Defense was very young but got better during the season. Held FSU to under a 100 yards total Offense.

The key stat for me on the UF defense was 3rd down conversion percentage of 27.27. 2nd in the Nation.

On the FSU game, FSU had a super conservative offensive game plan. They ran the ball on 3rd and long then punted. Our offense would then turn it over and our D was in a short field situation.

i think like ware and mathieu he took a step back after the suspensions. mathieu rebounded vs. arky and uga of course but you know what i mean. simon played his best ball early in the year. reminds me of an even taller chevis jackson. if coop can get him to be a tad more physical he'll be special.
