The amount of misinformation these Rival fans think are facts and the conspiracy they've contrived from them is astounding.

No way a police department would ever contact a coach at if one of his players was in trouble at any other school. It ONLY happens at Tennessee

Tuscaloosa and Athens (that I know of) PD took a break for a while but they are back in line with priorities again.

Because that conveniently gets left out of the Tennesseean's version of events.

No, they probably all call. They just don't call 10 hours before they investigate the crime scene and 4 hours before the players even are questioned in regards to a violent felony.

I'm honestly baffled how as an educated adult, you have no issue with that. Guess we just have different beliefs.

Contacting the coach is not the issue, not sure if you are spinning it or just an idiot.

The issue is the coach being called prior to the arrest and investigative interviews.

Coaches being called for DUIs and other arrests are appropriate and understood... thats after the arrest has occured.

I have an issue with it, but I'm not stupid enough to believe it was some grand conspiracy to cover up a violent crime given these undeniable facts:

1.) Both players were suspended immediately
2.) Condoms, DNA, Weed, and paraphernalia were all found at the apartment.
3.) Both players were charged with the crime and indicted.

It would literally be the shittiest cover up, EVER.

Ever heard of the Kennedys? Small town big wheels getting preferential treatment? Sure you have, you're from Mississippi. Don't act stupid and never call anyone an idiot. You're not qualified.

Jesus, man. Then we agree. I have never ever said there was a conspiracy, that Butch did anything wrong, or that there was a cover-up. My argument is, and always has been, that Butch should not have been called by the police department hours ahead of them doing their basic duties of investigation. It gives a very bad perception, and makes law enforcement look shady.

I don't think any UT fan is trying to argue otherwise. The problem is that the national media (stemming from the Tennessean) has attempted to make this out to be a cultural problem that is exclusive to only Tennessee when that is just blatantly false.

Of course it looks shady, mainly because it is. This goes back to the Fulmer days when KPD let fat arse interview and intimidate rape victims when he was HC. That's what makes this stink like a dirty hillbilly.

That's the thing though, y'all are judging this rape based on your states own laws and standards, not ours.

Umm...how do Tennessee's standards for rape differ from those of South Carolina? Having seen four members of my own program arrested for the crime in question, I'm under the impression the state of Tennessee treats rape with as much disapprobation as any other state.

In any event, the KPD had no business calling the coaches prior to securing the crime scenes and arresting the suspects, and violated any number of ethical codes in doing so. There's really no credible debate on that point.

The fact drugs and condoms were found is irrelevant. What is relevant is the fact that people notified Jones about the crime and Jones tipped off the players. The biggest one is Jone lying about not talking to AJ. Why say that when the records show otherwise? What is he trying to hide?
