The accusers are hiding a lot more details and information than Butch and the players are, and I'd like to see what that is. That's all I'm saying

ESPN is certainly known for their journalistic integrity and not sensationalizing stories before having all the facts.

I see that the past two weeks haven't changed your ignorance. Please continue believing that these Title IX lawsuits or police placing courtesy calls to athletic programs early in investigations are somehow limited to Tennessee. Or that there was a grand conspiracy by the coaching staff to hide evidence that did nothing to actually hide evidence. Do you want me to link this exact same conversation from two weeks ago?

Same here, just goes to show how corrupt it is up here. It's not just rape.

Just through pure speculation, I would say this is a pretty common practice. I would be willing to bet Miles gets calls from BRPD, Saban gets calls from Tuscaloosa PD, Mcelwain from the Gainesville PD, just as i'm sure Meyer, Jimbo, and Dabo gets alerted ahead of time.

And if Butch were alerted ahead of time about a pending investigation, there's nothing to suggest that he tipped off AJ and tried to cover anything up. AJ was still found with weed, paraphernalia, and the used condom from the incident in his apartment. Nothing was hidden.

That call 2 minutes after the call from the cops was probably just an unrelated butt dial. "AJ" probably showed up first on speed dial

Or maybe it was just a booty call. Or just to see if the # still worked, and then hang up, perhaps breathing real hard for a few seconds

Actually, that's exactly what the phone records indicate. Jones was notified at 8:20 am. Two minutes late Jones called one player and another coach called the other player. The police chief then called Jones at 8:38 am. Jones called the lawyer representing the players 3 times. At noon the police showed up at the apartment. Not until 6pm that evening, 10 hours later, did the police investigate the alleged crime scene.

The fact they found drug stuff and a used condom is more just an indictment of how stupid those players are than anything else. I don't think they are smart enough to cover anything up, but I do know that's not how an investigation is supposed to go. Apparently so does the assistant DA.

quote:

But Assistant District Attorney Sean McDermott told The Tennessean that "a pre-arrest disclosure of sensitive information that is not made for the purpose of advancing the criminal investigation potentially could violate state law regarding the misuse of official information."

Just read the article, whether ESPN has journalistic integrity or not, even they can read phone records.

If they know the cops are coming to search their apartment, would they not at least attempt to conceal anything incriminating? Surely they understand the consequences of being caught with weed, at 21 years of age. It's beyond pathetic how desperate you are for a conspiracy.

If Butch was conspiring to cover for what AJ did, there would have been no weed, no paraphernalia, and the condom probably would have been flushed, and AJ would have played vs. Mizzou on senior night for a chance to make a bowl game.

Obviously the phone calls can be left up to interpretation on what actually was said, but Butch suspending both players indefinitely (like he does with any player under any sort of investigation, i.e Von Pearson last spring) doesn't point to him trying to cover up anything. It's not like he's out there trying to pass off rape accusations as a 'violation of team rules' like Briles has regularly done at Baylor.

Hell no. It doesn't happen in Gainesville. Now we have a lawyer that will try to get their arse out of a crack, but there is no prior notification.

It will stoop to FSU level when the President tries to talk female students out of going to the cops when they get beaten by a player. Yep it really happened.

FSU Prez intervenes in football player rape

Sorry meant to say sexually assaulted, not beaten.

One of the main grievances in the title XI lawsuit is the players being provided legal representation.

Obviously doesn't happen everywhere, but I have a tough time believing that (even if it doesn't happen still) it didn't happen under Urban with the future convicts running shite while he was there.

Which is the funniest part. They are NOT "provided" with legal representation. At best, they are given the contact information of a local attorney who's worked on similar cases, but neither the University, nor the athletic department pays for it.

The complaint basically says that the accused shouldn't be allowed to have legal counsel present at his student judiciary committee, which is so fricking asinine it's unbelievable.
