Before everyone in the SEC got rich Auburn needed to play Bama in a bad way. It sold their season tickets.

If they were winning more or if Saban retired, they'd be fine playing The Tide every year.

JOX plays a recording of Pat Dye in his glory days saying something like....yes Bama is good, but we just gotta tighten up our chin strap and go knock their big arse off.
Pat Dye also made a remark about playing in the B'ham Iron Bowl as just throwing them a bone. (as in just throwing Alabama) a bone. He was pretty full of himself back then.

Doesn't Auburn have more history with east teams like Georgia anyway? Auburn moving to the east would actually be a good move for the conference.

Yes. and Yes.

But there was a time Auburn needed Bama in a bad way. They built their stadium off the Iron Bowl move.
Money was not free flowing back then.

Just like some States make their Top P5 school play mid major schools in their state to help fund them that is what the State of Alabama legislature did for Auburn.

Can we choose to disbelieve him like the 4 player from Auburn on the TV special saying they received money?

I don't know if he was trolling or serious but I take exception to him saying Bama is trying force something on them or dictate to them. He was fine doing the dictating when they wanted to move the IB to campus. Now he is fine not playing it if it means AU goes to the East forcing Bama to pick the TSIO or iB.....but somehow Bama is trying to dictate to them. He is an a-hole.

Both Alabama and Auburn should move to the east. Move Missouri and Vandy to the west.

New permanent opponents would then be.....
Georgia vs Ole Miss
Tennessee vs Vandy
Auburn vs Arkansas
Alabama vs Texas A&M
South Carolina vs Missouri

Drunken Pat at it again. Go ahead and move to the east, you will not do any better there than in the west. Sayonara!

Does anyone really care if anyone received cash? Are any of you so blind that you dont believe that goes on behind the door of every school out there. Every big school anyway

Its like making fun of someone for picking their nose

That is actually a good solution.

But then in the East you have Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, and Florida.

If this is one of the guys running shite behind the scenes, no wonder AU football is so mediocre.

First of all, the SEC doesn't want to lose the AU-UA rivalry. They might move AU to the East, but there will be a plan to keep that game on the schedule. America and TV loves the hatred between the two schools.

This has nothing to do with us playing Bama and everything to do with us wanting to play Florida (and Tennessee) again.

Has nothing to do with being down. We want to play Florida and Tennessee again instead of Arkansas and Texas A&M.

We have a long, long history with Florida. You might know they were the first SEC team to ever play in Auburn.

I think by and large the fanbase doesn't care about Arkansas, and probably less about A&M. We don't have much of a history with Ole Miss either to be honest.

Ideally we would play the Big 3 from the East, you guys, and maybe LSU sprinkled in occasionally.
