Heresy. Auburn fans with the conspiracy syndrome get on my nerves but other than that they are my coworkers, my friends and even my family. They take their football program seriously and our game with them means a lot to me. Auburn, you are stuck with us regardless and it isn't a bad thing. The rivalry is good for both of us and it will heat up even more when Saban hangs it up and we come back down to earth. frick Pat for even thinking it.

Exactly what I said. Extra benefits provided by a Booster (cash for Int and Steaks for hits) and Dye provide a loan contact.

Put Auburn in the east and still play the Iron Bowl every year at the end.
Would be just an OOC game for the most part but would fulfill each team's P5 game requirement when it did not count in the conference.
Boom problem solved.
Missouri to the West.
Move on to next question.

Does Missouri want to go to the West? Does UGA/UT/UF/USC/UK/Vandy want Auburn in the East?

Put the shite up for a vote in Destin next week and lets see if Auburn has the pull within the conference to get the move passed.

This is what most AU fans think about when they hear about their BAMA Big Brother:

Iron Bowl was played at Legion Field with a 50/50 ticket split.

There was an equitable distribution of tickets between both universities. However, that didn't mean ALL the tickets were split 50/50. A chunk of tickets were allocated to the City of Birmingham and other related civic groups etc. around town. Auburn's complaint was that Birmingham was essentially a Bama town and all those tickets inevitably wound in the hands of Bama fans.

About 5K-10k were sold to members of the Community for any event held at Legion Field (some were the Gold Chair back seats). Most of those were sold to Bama fans who bought them because of Bama playing so many games at LF. 2K-5K were sold to local politicians and Corporate Executives. In reality it was a 60/40 split.

They were right. I enjoy the on campus games much better anyway. I am glad we ultimately cut ties to Birmingham and our Auburn brethren helped mark a start to that.

The Big games Bama played in B-ham was because of the size of stadiums and the alums in the city.
BDS had 37,000, LF had almost twice that. Bryant didn't want to spend the money on Tuscaloosa.

Pat Dye has sat back and watched his beloved Auburn program on a roller coaster ride with 3 Head Coaches, 4 OC's, 6 DC's in the last decade. Albeit with 2 SEC Championships, a NC, and a Heisman in the mix.

He's witnessed AU go 2-8 vs UGA and 3-7 vs LSU & Bama in the last 10 yrs.

He's seen Alabama win 64 games in the last 5 yrs compared to Auburn's 38 wins.

After all of that, he thinks AU should head East so they get an even tougher schedule?

It's called the pussy division because all three of you are running away from games

Projection, much? LSU not only wants to run away from games; half the dripping gashes on here want to leave the SEC if you so much as get a false start penalty in a conference game.

This thread proves the rivalry doesn't mean much and we should move to the east.....

What needs to end is these so called "east - west" rivalries games which are total BS.

Uhhh, the rivalries were rivalries before the SEC split into divisions. Separating the teams by an arbitrary divisional line hardly makes the rivalry games BS.

Bottom line is dye wants auburn to have an easier path to S.E.C. championship , just like LSU when they talked about dropping Florida when Meyer was there . Granted they didn't try and leave their division just wanted to drop the game .
