With a conference championship last season

Kansas State won the conference in 2012. You lost to them and just happened to have the same record.

Your reward, of course was getting Johnny Manziel's best career rushing game.

This thread went pretty much how I expected. For some reason, Aggies still seem scared of OU joining the SEC

Why'd the conference give us a trophy then?

Have you looked at the recruiting rankings? We took your spot.

Recruits don't want an easy path to the playoffs, they want to play big games to prepare for the NFL.

Participation trophy. The same reason A&M has a South Division trophy from 2010 even though Oklahoma went to the title game...of course, unlike OU 2012, A&M actually BEAT the team that went ahead of them head to head.

So you're admitting you're scared of us joining because we'd take back our recruits from you? Last year according to Rivals, we finished only 5 spots lower than you, so the difference wasn't even that much.

You're right, I'm sure you are all excited to be playing Duke in the bowl game.

Okay It is what it is. We were big 12 champs as made official by the conference.. You can deal with it.

We took every single one of your defensive priority targets, including the brother of an OU 1st round pick.

The one guy that we let you have didn't qualify academically.

If you want to go a bit further using rivals' shitty rankings:

2014:

Texas A&M - 6th (avg. rating 3.63)
Oklahoma - 33rd (avg. rating 3.11)

2013:

Texas A&M - 11th (avg. rating 3.45)
Oklahoma - 15th (avg. rating 3.17)

We did. 41-13

Johnny Manziel outscored your team by himself last year.

To put it in further perspective, the last time A&M beat Oklahoma worse than the 2013 Cotton Bowl were my sophomore (51-7) and junior (29-0) years

Justin Mannings brother was not a first round draft pick at OU. He pretty much has a terrible experience here, after having some legal troubles he went undrafted. It's not a big surprise that Manning didn't want to follow in his footsteps.

As for this year, we still have a month and a half til signing day, we will be in the Top 15 before it's over. And last year, the difference didn't end up being that big. At least in year 1, as y'all had a worst season than last year, and we had a better season.

This explains where the insecurity is stemming from.

Didn't OU always dominate aTm with scores like 77-0 and 65-3 in the Big 12? I always remembered aTm being OU and Texas's bitch in that conference.

That's correct. Which explains why they are scared of us joining the SEC now

No. Games won by 4+ scores in bold

1996: A&M 33, Oklahoma 16
1997: A&M 51, Oklahoma 7
1998: A&M 29, Oklahoma 0
1999: Oklahoma 51, A&M 6
2000: Oklahoma 35, A&M 31
2001: Oklahoma 31, A&M 10
2002: A&M 30, Oklahoma 26
2003: Oklahoma 77, A&M 0
2004: Oklahoma 42, A&M 35
2005: Oklahoma 36, A&M 30
2006: Oklahoma 17, A&M 16
2007: Oklahoma 42, A&M 14
2008: Oklahoma 66, A&M 28
2009: Oklahoma 65, A&M 10
2010: A&M 33, Oklahoma 14
2011: Oklahoma 41, A&M 25
2012: A&M 41, Oklahoma 13

When I was in school, Oklahoma was an absolute doormat. The only thing keeping them from being the Baylor of the Big 12 South...was Baylor.

Quote from OU AD in 2011:

"I think we'll come out better than before...

"West Virginia has better football than Missouri, better basketball than Missouri, a better budget than Missouri and more passion among its fans than Missouri. They're better, anyway you turn 'em. The travel's not good but that's it."

That's Joe Castiglione, former Mizzou AD, current OU AD. Thank god that jackass left and we upgraded with Alden. If OU to the SEC ever got serious I would hope Castiglione would be long gone.

Their current President, Boren is the doofus politician that made the famous wallflower comment in a press conference he purposely scheduled at the same time Mizzou's Chancellor was holding a press conference to talk about the search for an A&M replacement. That was the last straw for Mizzou.

quote:

quote:

OU burned some bridges with Mizzou and Aggie when they left the B12

Don't think that's true. OU just seemed to be what they were, a good to elite football school. Not much else. Don't think that's true. OU just seemed to be what they were, a good to elite football school. Not much else.

Don't know if anyone cared much either way about them, seemed they were under Texas's thumb like everyone else.

This.

My experience with Oklahomans after living there for a couple of years is that they have complete disdain and disrespect for all things southern. This was long before their losing streak to SEC teams in bowl games, so it seems to be more of a cultural thing.
