No more teams please, in fact we could dump a few. We've already proven that if you win the SEC you play for the title (and most likely win it) so why dilute the chances?

Of course now we're going to the playoffs, but I don't believe they are going to allow more than 1 SEC team on a regular basis so why dilute it?

The only upside I see is more money. The biggest downside is playing a team like OU and stretching out who you play in the other division to a decade in between for teams that have been in the conference forever.

Correct. This getting more than one team in the playoff thing will rarely, if ever, happen.

OU burned some bridges with Mizzou and Aggie when they left the B12

Don't think that's true. OU just seemed to be what they were, a good to elite football school. Not much else.

Don't know if anyone cared much either way about them, seemed they were under Texas's thumb like everyone else.

As others have pointed out though, no reason to make the SEC even more of a gauntlet.

You have 3-4 legit national contenders annually in the SEC already. Why make it even more of a gauntlet while teams from the BIG 10 and PAC get a free ride off their shite conferences.

If we had to add someone else, Oklahoma's at the top of my list. But I don't want to add anyone

Maybe all the history books I have read were wrong, but Mizzou and Kentucky were never part of the Confederacy either.

Again, I missed why the SEC needs to be tougher.

There's really only one sure-fire win in the west--and once Bert gets dumped that may change to only one highly probable win.

This logic is sound.

Both were recognized by the Confederacy and had members/representatives in the Confederate congress. Lincoln kept Kentucky in the union by the bayonet. Same with Maryland.

NO period.

One of the primary reasons we joined the SEC is to suck the life out of 0U. It is working. Please move on.

Add duke and north Carolina.

They would add real bball credibility to the conference. Mizzou and their 6th place conf finishes are nothing but pseudo cred.

I highly doubt they will ever join or be allowed to join the SEC, but if we brought in OU/OSU, I would hope we could get collegiate wrestling going strong in the SEC with Missouri also being here.

Mizzou was kept from seceding by Union bayonet. Mizzou had large numbers of Confederate militia.

Isn't that what has happened the last two years. I can't believe that OU hasn't realized that all teams flourish when they are removed from the cancer-shadow that is Texas.

Not really. With a conference championship last season and a BCS Bowl this season, OU is just fine. Not to mention, we have a much easier path to the playoff where we're at now
