Children are all but raised by the time they are 15 or 16 and understand right from wrong. He committed this crimes (rape) multiple times to a 6 year old. This is not a second chance type situation. You void your second chances or anything positive that may come to you in your life after you rape a child multiple times. I don't mind life in prison in these situations.

He was on a public list, and added to another public list once the time period elapsed and he had not re-registered. Nobody is trying to "keep it quiet" and I'm certainly not arguing that it should have been. What I am arguing is that I can't imagine anyone having been put through that or anyone in their family would appreciate some random, nobody journalist digging up dirt and creating national headlines at their expense. I also am having a hard time fathoming how anyone could be in support of that occurring, which is exactly what I was getting at in my original post. Nobody thinks about the victim when they go digging for dirt. They just want clicks and headlines, and message board readers like yourself want something shady to talk shite about.

Again, very sad, and I hate the family and young girl are having to go through that just because someone saw a chance to cash in and gain some fame at their expense.

I'm sorry. Oregon State needs to kick him off the team now.

They knew when they freaking signed him. Kicking him off now doesn't make them look better just because it's become public knowledge. It's despicable to begin with

Then your research is shallow, the same journalist has praised him prior to this. He even wrote a follow up article on why he released it. Also, the victims mother has stated she doesn't believe he should be on the team and her daughter is emotionally ruined from the abuse. What is there to gain by the mother taking a 15 year old to court, other than doing what's right?

Look, I get what he did was awful, BUT it was dealt with at the time of the incident and has served his punishment AND it was before he was even associated with the school. Why can't he get along with his life?

There's scientific evidence supporting the fact that pedophiles are hard wired that way. Meaning, this guy is still a danger and it doesn't matter that this happened when he was 15

This is why the pervert is on a sex offender list for life. He will be a danger to kids for the rest of his life.

20 states confine pedophiles for life. They accept that child molesters cannot be rehabilitated and will be threats to kids whenever they get the chance. Heimlich is a confirmed pedophile. He will always be a danger to children, even his own.

Where in those articles does he discuss how his stories are affecting the victim by dragging her back through it all, this time with a national spotlight? That's my beef, and what I've been saying this entire time. I couldn't care any less about how this baseball player feels. That's not the point and never has been.

And again, I'm sure these news headlines are helping her a whole lot in that area. /sarcasm

Not sure what your point is with this, so I'm not sure how to respond to the comment.

Everyone realizes this was going to come out eventually, right?

He's a dominant college pitcher that can be drafted next week. He was going to be background checked just like the reporter did. Even if a MLB team didn't leak it somewhere, it would have raised enough eyebrows when he was drafted super low.

I hope he gets drafted by a MLB team.

Then, he finds out he has dick cancer the next day.

ETA: Terminal dick cancer

The victims mother has publically stated she hates him and he shouldn't be on a team... hint she's happy the dirt bag isnt being shamed in public and hopefully won't be a multi millionaire. That would be wrong given what he's done.

Taking him to court already divided the family and the town. It's not like it was some secretive crime, people heard about it. Imagine taking a family member to court for something like this, news/gossip would be everywhere. She had nothing financially to gain from this when he was 15, she did the right thing, so this isn't some attempt by the media or the victim to gain some money.

That is irrelevant, and is the antithesis of the American justice system.

He has already served out the punishment for his crime.

Whatever team drafts him is going to have a shite storm to deal with. People keep being up a prospect that killed someone, but to me that is much easier to gloss over than drafting a incestual chomo

You're a dumbass if you're equating moleststion to other crimes. It's mental disorder and he's ruined a little girls life. She's still only 11, but defend that perv. Better yet ask yourself if you'd let him be alone with 4 year old female in your family.

Fwiw I'd argue child molestation is a worse crime than murder.

Legit child rape like this and pedo state should be punished with death.

Should not surprise anyone since he is at a liberal college. I'm sure they welcomed him with open arms

Motherfrick.

On my 15th birthday, the great state of La. (and the lovable EWE, Gov.) granted me a drivers license.

Ain't a goddamned thing childish about being 15 in my world.

frick him. The fact that he is doing what he's been doing since tells me this WAS NEVER "dealt with".

Hey Luke, time to pay the piper, you slimy a-hole.

Because the little girl he did that to won't live her life the way she would have if this pervert hadn't ruined it for her. She's innocent he isn't, he should get backlash over this! I hope this isn't the end of it for him. Sick is what it is!!
