If Sandusky gets pardoned tomorrow, all obligations to the state fulfilled, are you okay with him getting a job with and representing your university?

This isn't about punishment.

Went to an Oregon State board and was disgusted. Blaming the newspaper, talking about suing for millions that he will lose, and defending him.

He will apparently pitch against vanderbilt and the university will not comment on the matter.

He was on a public list, and added to another public list once the time period elapsed and he had not re-registered. Nobody is trying to "keep it quiet" and I'm certainly not arguing that it should have been. What I am arguing is that I can't imagine anyone having been put through that or anyone in their family would appreciate some random, nobody journalist digging up dirt and creating national headlines at their expense. I also am having a hard time fathoming how anyone could be in support of that occurring, which is exactly what I was getting at in my original post. Nobody thinks about the victim when they go digging for dirt. They just want clicks and headlines, and message board readers like yourself want something shady to talk shite about.

You should read up on vicitims of sexual abuse. You act like this was some sort of isolated event that is being dredged up after the victim had put this behind her. That's not the way it works with sexual abuse. The victim will have trouble forming healthy sexual relationships the rest of her life as a result of the abuse. It never goes away. The newspaper, for its part, does not identify the victim by name in its story, and it is clear that the victim's mother approves of that story.

Well said. As a victim myself, of a very similar situation as this story, I am torn about rather 15 years is old enough for someone to be judged. Maybe they turn out to be horrible people for them to have this level of perversion and intrusion at such a young age, who knows. Maybe they grow up and become good people. Who knows. Being that I was 9 and my assaulter was the same age as this guy, I wrestle with this. It doesn't make it any easier though, that's for sure. I am permanently changed by my experience, and it has certainly had long term effects on my trust with any partners I have ever had, including my now wife whom I love.

Why/how do we know this guy's juvenile record? Was he charged as an adult?

Bad example if these comments are correct. That guy never touched his cousin. He was a juvenile in the room when his cousin's older boyfriend did and he helped tie her up using seran wrap - a prank they'd pulled on another cousin without any raping going on.

Never said that and in fact I wouldn't have recruited him. But there's a difference between being a coward and not stopping an adult when you're a juvenile and being the person who actively perpetrates a rape.

His cousin forgave him long ago and didn't blame him for what happened.

Oregon St. Let's their players work camps like every other school does in the summer time to make a little spending money. Would you want your child going to a camp with this pervert at it. There is so many other issues besides him playing ball, doing his punishment according to you makes it ok to be around kids. now. He's rehabilitated now. This shite makes me furious and sick to my stomach

More likely they learn to be stealthy in their relationships with kids. They appear to be good people and use that perception to get access to children.

Pedophiles never lose their attraction to kids. Like a copperhead amongst the leaves they just fade into their surroundings. They remain as dangerous as ever.

He missed a date that he had to make because of his status of a sex offender. That became public knowledge. Then someone looked into why the top pitcher on the top baseball team in the country had a court date to miss in the first place.

Saw someone say on the OSU board that its why he is at OSU. This happened when he was 15, the sentence when he was 16, and by 18 no MLB clubs really wanted to take a chance on him so he ended up out of state at OSU. Oregon has more stringent laws protecting his case from being made public than his home state. The problem was he missed this court date, and that became public and then someone looked into it.

Did not help him that the victim's mother was more than happy to talk.
