Don't be dense, pank.
You know the overwhelming majority of our fanbase and alumni use the term "Ole Miss."

Do Ole Miss grads resumes say "Ole Miss" or "University of Mississippi". Not trolling. Just curious.

Really, because last time I checked most people aren't offended by any of these things. If they were all of this would have been settled a long time ago. But they can't take away Ole Miss or Rebels yet because they know all hell would break loose. Because people don't want these things to be changed. So instead they resort to taking away little things such as Confederate Drive. Just chipping away until that day comes. The day when we all just give up.
The Redskins situation is eerily similar. Yet the Redskins will sell out every game this season and people will continue to buy Redskins gear. But these nuts will do anything and everything to convince others that the name needs to be changed because they speak for some invisible mass of Americans.

My resume says University of Mississippi, of course.
No one is doubting that the official name of the University is "University of Mississippi."
As a matter of fact, the only time I can recall using the term "University of Mississippi" is in an interview.

If they change Ole Miss or Rebels I'm out.
I'm sick of our school's administration acting AGAINST the desires of so many Ole Miss' alumni and current students. A handful of people acting against the interests of Rebel nation should not be bigger than Ole Miss. I'm sick of the way our administration lies to Rebel nation while actively scheming to change what makes Ole Miss unique.
It's not about how some liberal history professor from NYC sees our school, it's about how the people who love Ole Miss see the school. Rebel nation has seen Ole Miss actively stripped of everything that makes the school unique. Stop trying to appease some rando liberal outsiders with no ties to the school and stand behind rebel nation, Dan Jones.
Dan Jones should be acting on behalf of former and current students everywhere. When it becomes apparent that he is actively working against the desires of Rebel nation it's time to show him the door.
That's the thing. Not only should we not appease to them. WHY THE frick ARE WE EVEN LISTENING TO THEM?! They chose to work at Ole Miss. It's #OURuniversity. They can go skip their **** asses back on up to NY. College professors on Ole Miss's level are so easy to find. It's simple. Tell him if they have a problem with it they may clean out their office. Give them the option. If they leave, they can't take action against us. They stay, they lost and they shut the frick up.

And the school has never changed names. We've been the University of Mississippi since it has been founded. Which is, once again, why the outrage in this is stupid.

So fricking stupid. If Ole Miss, From Dixie with Love, Colonel Reb, etc. genuinely offends you then you probably lack the fortitude to make much of yourself.

No, racism is kept alive by family members who have hate and prejudice in their heart. They go on to instill these beliefs in young people who don't know any better. It didn't go away... Hopefully some day it will literally die off.

The fact they are even hinting at fricking with Ole Miss or Rebels is eerily reminiscent to how they hinted about changing Col. Reb before they did or hinted at stopping playing slow Dixie before they did. This is how they operate. They hint at changing some stuff to plant the seed in people's minds then slowly chip away at it over a few years.
I wish OM fans would stop laying back while they get fricked by Dan Jones when we could easily tell him "We don't trust you. You're fired." At the least I wish Dan would stop creating racially charged attention regarding Ole Miss by the shite that he does and says.

WAUM doesn't have the same ring to it as WAOM.

It appears the issue at hand is "Ole Miss" usage in email accounts.
Professors and researchers who have to interact with funding organizations and other academia-types are uncomfortable with the message "Ole Miss" could send. Whether students and/or alumni like it or not, in order for OM to evolve and compete with other universities for research dollars (and prestige), image is huge. It can be awkward at research conferences as well--particularly those that deal specifically with issues related to epistemology, diversity, resiliency, democratic classrooms, and learning environments.
Perhaps the answer is to provide UMiss.edu addresses for faculty (and any students who prefer it), and keep olemiss.edu accounts for students?
Change is damn hard.
Texas A&M has had to undergo multiple shifts over the past few decades.
We can relate.
Hope it works out for all involved, Rebs.

Did I ever say that?
You have to realize something. People who disagree and complain like hell are the only ones you hear. The people that, for the most part, don't care about this don't have a reason to post like hell.

It's in the report, and I don't really feel like articulating a point that was already made within it. Just Google it.

I never said otherwise. I'm just stating that I see the outrage over this issue similar to "Obammer's coming after my guns", "FEMA Death Camps", and "Chemtrails".

LOL! Ok, Should everybody who had an ancestor who owned slaves, who has the same last name change their name? Stop side stepping the question.
