Now look at RPI 18 Indiana State. They're 3-3 vs the top 50 RPI

Arkansas has played 28 times vs. top 50 rpi winning 14 and Indiana St.is looking to host a regional while Ark. is hoping to get a 2 seed.
Thats a problem most middle of the pack SEC teams face though.

I think if LSU beats Vandy and OM that makes us a host in my mind...if LSU goes 0-2 or 1-2 we should start to worry and maybe start getting the suitcases ready.

Florida is a Top 8 seed regardless.

Ole Miss has to at least make the SEC final to have any hope of a Top 8 Seed.

If ULL doesn't win their conference tourney, they get bumped down and we for sure see 3 ACC national seeds.

It shouldn't matter. ULL could cruise through its tourney undefeated and they still won't even play, much less beat, another top-50 team. There is only one other team in that conference that's even in the top 100.

ULL will finish the season with only three wins against top 50 teams. Ole Miss has 14, plus seven SEC series wins against solid teams like MSU, ATM, Arky, etc. USC and Vandy are similar. There is no way ULL should be a seed before Vandy, USC, or OM.

If we win our first 2 games to advance to semifinal Saturday and Vandy loses game 1 against TN I could definitely see us replacing them as a National Seed... Finishing 6th in your conference and goin 1 and Q in the SECt is a lot to overcome with the committee... Assuming the 5 teams behind them don't all lose as well, a loss to the Volunteers definitely knocks them out of the top 8 as well.

It does matter for ULL when any loss would be a bad loss

cal poly is the same way. and they're still in the regional discussion. i dont think they have played one team in the top 25 rpi. not even 1.

At least Cal Poly is 18-8 against the top 100. 4-4 against the top 50.

Indiana, for example is only 14-9 against top 100

Agree. But my point is that it shouldn't take a loss to kick ULL out of a national seed discussion they shouldn't be in to begin with.

ULL is 49-7 with an RPI that's #7 in the country. They absolutely belong in the national seed discussion.

SOS accounts for 75% of a team's RPI. So even with that bad of a SOS, they still have a #7 RPI. That's impressive in itself.

They're 35-3 against teams 101 or higher.

They belong in the national seed discussion the same way Boise State deserves to be in the BCS championship game discussion whenever they play a cupcake schedule to avoid losing any games. ULL *might* be a real good team, but they sure as hell haven't built a resume to prove it.

Only four games played against top 50 teams. A solitary top-50 road win (a midweek five-inning game against LSU). It's not even remotely comparable to Vandy, Ole Miss, and USC.

What's crazy looking through all of the teams and keeping up with it....the consistency of teams like South Carolina, LSU, Arkansas, Ole Miss, etc....Arizona won the national title in 2012....this year? 20-32 overall and 9-21 in league play.

It doesn't matter, because they want teams from the Midwest and west coast to host too.
