Here's how I see it

Florida is all but guaranteed a top 8 seed.

Ole Miss, Vandy, and USC are the next round of teams, with LSU behind them.

If one of those four sweep the SECT, they will have a top 8 seed.

SEC probably will not get more than two top-8 seeds. Oregon State, Virginia, FSU, ULL, and Cal Poly all probably have top-8 seeds, barring tournament meltdowns.

Then you have between Houston and Rice, the last seed.

Edit: I forgot about Louisville in that mix, but they may need to win their tourney.

I like Miami as a national seed. They're something like 24-3 in their last 27 games. They won the ACC regular season as well

I didn't realize that. Then the ACC might get themselves 3 top-8 seeds. It'll be hard for the committee not to give two of the top 3 RPI teams hosts.

I believe both Vandy and USC have a good bit better rpi than Ole Miss.

Ole Miss' RPI is number 15 and USC is 12 but Ole Miss has the tougher SOS. It's close. And with us winning the West and finishing above them in the conference overall, I'd say unless we completely screw up in the SEC Tournament, we get it over USC

ACC Final standings

Miami 24-6(ACC record for league wins)
Virginia 22-8
Florida State 21-9

They could get 3 national seeds with those three. They certainly will have a strong case.

Virginia finishing strong definitely helps UK out getting into the tournament.

Im seeing RPIs of 13 for Ole Miss and 8 for USCe

Was getting my numbers from the Weekly Power Rankings thread. Still not that big of a difference though.

The SEC was the tougher conference, so I don't think they deserve 3 teams.

I was wrong on Miami

They went 27-3 over their last 30 games. Won the ACC, have an OOC series win over Florida.

I'd have UVA, Miami, FSU, UF, ULL, Ole Miss, Indiana and Oregon State as national seeds as of now.

With S Carolina, TCU and Vandy right there as well.

As far as hosting goes..Rice and Houston barely hosting as of now. With LSU and Louisville right behind them.

If I had a gun to my head right now, I'd say the top 8 are....

Virginia
Florida
Miami(FL)
Oregon State
Indiana
Louisiana Laf
Ole Miss
Florida State

I put Ole Miss because....2nd overall in SEC. Won the toughest division in baseball. 14-11 vs. RPI top 50. Tougher SOS than USCe.

My remaining 8 hosts would be....

South Carolina
Vanderbilt
TCU
Houston
Oklahoma State
Texas Tech
Cal Poly
Louisville

I could see swapping out TCU for Washington out of the PAC 12.

Yea I agree with all national seeds and 14 out of 16 hosts.

I find it hard to leave out the champion of the #2 conference. And even though I'm not sure CP and UW deserve it I find it hard to believe the committee wont give the west 3 hosts.

Alot can still change and it will depend on what the committee values. Louisville swept Houston on the road but has a worse RPI. Houston in turn swept Rice.

Yea, Oklahoma State would likely host over Texas Tech....but they may get two sites.

You're correct about the West. They will put 3 out there some place....Oregon State, Cal poly, and Washington seems likely.

Didn't even notice this. Don't really keep up with ACC baseball except how mediocre Clemson has been this year. Anytime I heard about it I figured it had been FSU's to lose. Looks like Miami baseball is back, for now anyway.

The last projection I saw for Regionals was sending us to Miami as #2. I would rather go to Indiana

Vandy also finished 6th in the league. They're not getting a national seed.

Then that eliminates Ole Miss getting one.

With an RPI of 17 and a SOS in the triple digits no way do they deserve a national seed.
