It's laughable that their fans think that because they won an East championship one time, they are destined to compete with the traditional powers.

Link to anyone claiming this? Most of us even admit that it was a terrible year for the East when we won, because it was. You're reaching here, Shafty

Most of your fans are still applying aloe vera to their fart-sex holes from the last 3 years of punishment at the hands of Butch Jones, BUTCH JONES FOR frick'S SAKE.

Story breaks tomorrow that Matlock was Sanduskying little boys in the South Carolina showers.

Well played, Muschamp.

I do not get the angst some gamecock fans are feeling here. Let your head coach be the head coach and run your football program that you've paid him millions of dollars to do.

So he fired the equipment manager? And "thousands" of gamecock fans are now pi##ed at him? Weak. Reminds me a bit of the UGA fans that are upset with Kirby Smart because he may have changed the transfer policy and paid a rap star $65,000.00 and some condoms for 15 minutes of work.

These are the same fans that will be first in line with the matches to burn the head coach at the stake when he doesn't get the job done.

Frick the haters. Let the head coach do what he was hired to do, put the culture in place that he wants and get the frick out of his way.

There will be plenty of time to hate him later, if necessary, based on his won/loss record.

That would not be well played

Pretty sure he'd be fired next if this was his only action

I got you. I thought he was talking about getting rid of everybody because of their contributions to a certain mindset.

I DO, however understand getting rid of an almost entire staff because of their mindset, though.

One was a bad loss... The other two were against teams that were 10-15 combined and you won by 6 points combined? Congrats on the super bowl I guess.

Like most I have real questions about CWM ability to lead an entire program because of his anger management issues which have plagued his entire life not just his coaching career.

However, USCe seems to be majoring on the minor worrying about the head coach firing an equipment manager...he's the head coach let him do what he wants, how he wants and if he fails in 3 or 4 years get a new one. The worst thing that you can do is have a head coach and only let him control things part of the way.

Maybe He's cutting cost to spend the money in much needed areas such as recruiting. I don't know what those folks salaries were but maybe it was a sizable amount just my .02

I don't know Matlock, but you have to understand that the USC fanbase is largely used to stability- for better or (largely) worse. Muschamp is the third head coach since 1999; UTK is on their third coach this administration. Any changes Muschamp makes will feel tectonic in comparison because we're not used to much of it.

I've been pretty vocal that I didn't like the Muschamp hiring, and thought Tanner was exposed as an amateur during his coaching search. I don't have high hopes for his tenure here.

That's not accurate, Jones was Dave Hart's first hire.

Or did you mean this presidential administration?

Matlock has been retained by Coach Tanner in another position by the University. Word is ge was let go for "leaking" information to the press about the program and players.

If true (the reason behind the firing), it MAY be part of a "feud" Coach has with Josh Kindall at The State paper. Coach is always making cracks about "Josh's sources." Not saying it's so, just saying what folks are talking about...

I used to think there was nothing better than pissed off Spurrier of FL - slinging visors off.... that was until Douchechamp became coach.
