Of course he was told by text, so I'm guessing the relationship probably isn't a strong one to begin with.

Agreed. Sam didn't exactly start this thing off on the right foot with that shite. Guess an email took too much effort.

That is the sort of thing you break with a phone call at least, but in person is the proper way to do it. I can't feel sorry for Sam in this if that is the way he told his father. He should've acted like an adult, I'm not coming down on his dad because he responded poorly when Sam kind of deserves it after that bs.

I mean, if you dump your gf over a text, do you expect her to be all smiles the next time you see them? Is it EVER ok to break life-changing news like to someone via a text? No, it isn't for those that don't realize the question is rhetorical.

The old man isn't exactly father of the year. Maybe a text was more than he deserved. Look at the status of Mike's siblings.

Thats cheating. It would be a halfsee. There is all kinda messed up in that sitch.

Not at all. I have a friend from college who had to have an emergency hysterectomy after her first baby; she almost bled out. They decided they wanted more children and used a surrogate. It was a great choice for them and not messed up in any way.

It's a logical choice for some people, but especially homosexuals. I think Ricky Martin's twins were from a surrogate?

Still, being petulant because he may not have been the greatest father is not how you portray yourself as the bigger person. There are better ways to handle the situation. This is a life-changing event for not only Sam, but for his entire family.

Whether a father would be ok with the preference of not is one thing, but no father would be ok with being informed in that manner. If they already had a poor relationship, then this is probably the reaction that MS should have expected, tbqh.

I think, if Sam felt this was the proper way to inform his dad, then he probably should have just waited and let him find out in the news.
