Silent majority? More like overwhelming majority. No one wants their son to be gay.

Word. I have 2 family members of said diversity. Ones dad is conservative and wont talk to his only son, the other is liberal and has hated his sons decision, but has a relationship with him still.

Now I'm picturing the Applebee's off Northwest Hwy. I wonder if he walked over to target, Pier 1, or Kohl's after that. That would have had lots of comedic potential.

The one off George Bush and Frankford is one of my favs.

Meh, everyone will bash his dad. In reality if you were to ask 95% of the guys on this board if they would want their son to be gay, the answer would be frick no.

I bet he won't have a problem asking for some of his son's "gay money" though.

Some of these replies are hilarious. Touché gentlemen.

Hes old school and his son told him he was for the gheys via text message

That would cause any parent to take a few fireball shots at Applebee's

yep, a decent father would probably give a 'no comment' while they were still processing the information not come out and say what mr. sam said.

If he was a decent father MS probably wouldn't have told him via text.

The first thing I'd do is tell my son "I love you and I support you" if he came out. But I'm not going to sit here and say it wouldn't make me want to drink.

Interestingly, he told the paper that "he loves his son and hopes he makes it into the NFL."

Hopefully he told his son the same thing.

And there it is. Not sure the elder Mr. Sam could be called either. He left his wife and 8 kids pretty much on their own, rarely had contact with them.

And while I'm sure his wife did the best she could, she is devoutly Jehovah's Witness and didn't even want Michael to play football - she thought it distracted him from service to God. He stayed with friends as often as at home, and friends parents helped him get into college.

You are allowed to criticize. But people are allowed to criticize your criticism. That's how it works.

He probably could have articulated his displeasure in a different way, besides saying he couldn't eat anymore so he went to get drunk.

he can say whatever he wants but he makes himself look like a dick- i would think most people would have the awareness to realize that before they opened their mouth.

I can think of a few cases where this is wrong.
