I have respect for the Aubies, and know they are for real. Gus has done a fantastic job with what he had. Given this class coming in, and what he has coming back in 14, they will contend for the NC. Ya'll make the west that much better. I look forward to these Iron Bowl challenges for years to come.

JMO but telling your dad you're gay via text message instead of face to face is kind of shitty. That would probably be more upsetting than the actual news of being gay.

From what I've read, it sounds like Mr. Sam was lucky to get any prior notice. Not exactly a "dad".

Between that, the dad's response and the general background, I'm gonna go out on a limb and bet that they're not very close and rarely talk.

It's still his dad though. He apparently has enough of a relationship to text him.. Just saying that telling him via a cold emotionless text message is kind of shitty. At least call him if nothing else.

Mike's Dad is barely in his life and it's been that way for awhile. Mike came from a very difficult background. Putting the gay stuff aside, he accomplished a lot more than he probably should have.

His dad lives in Dallas.

Now I'm picturing the Applebee's off Northwest Hwy. I wonder if he walked over to target, Pier 1, or Kohl's after that. That would have had lots of comedic potential.

The thought of my son being gay seems to bother my wife much more than it does me... I think it's the future grand kid thing.

Personally, I could give a shite less. If it makes him happy, then that's what I want for my children. I won't be on Pensacola Beach on Memorial Day weekend in support, but he and his partner would always be welcome.... As long as they're prepared to catch some flak. Straight or gay, don't walk in my house with thin skin.

Other side of the coin; found out that baby 2 will be a girl. Researching ways to make her a lesbian.

You would think that telling your parents that you are gay would be something to talk about face to face not through a text message. Maybe that is just me.

Meh, everyone will bash his dad. In reality if you were to ask 95% of the guys on this board if they would want their son to be gay, the answer would be frick no.

I'm still a ways off from being kids but I wouldn't "want" my kid to be gay. I also wouldn't "want" him to be straight.

Some people on this very board have fricking foot fetishes, and y'all are worried if your kids are gay? That foot shite is fricked up. Gay is no big.

I know man, some people are into strange things.

I think the places his dad went to drink are the biggest part of this. Lets be honest, if your son comes out, having a few drinks doesn't seem like the worst thing to do. Slamming 30 PBR's on tap at Applebees is the game changer though.

You couldn't pay me to take on Urban Meyer's baggage. Dude is one loud fart away from getting busted everywhere he's been, and the type of character his player's have been revealed to have is appalling.

In just five years at Florida he produced two murderers, a serial killer, a drug kingpin, multiple drug dealers, assorted other crimes and the highest number of arrests of any program in the country.

frick that, not worth the risk.

god DAMN

I thought the same but telling his dad by text just tells me they dont have a great relationship at all.

Who cares? Jeez, I never would have thought that the SECrant of all places is full of pansies. The man can say whatever he wants and if you don't like it STFU. What does any of this have to do with prison anyway?

Silent majority? More like overwhelming majority. No one wants their son to be gay.
