how is that being a dick?

you obviously think it's perfectly fine which is ok. i, however, think he seems like a dick and horrible parent saying this publicly. he doesn't have to be happy or thrilled with it but a little decorum would be nice considering he is the parent.

i see what semo posted about him and i feel comfy saying he's a dick- basically just a sperm donor.

i don't care at all if you agree with me. it's my opinion- you can nominate him for father of the year if you wish.

Personally, I could give a shite less. If it makes him happy, then that's what I want for my children.

I mean, yeah I want my kids to be happy and if they were gay, then I have no choice but to be supportive.

Doesn't mean i won't take it hard or be upset about it. I'd like to have my family lineage continue.

What grandkids is he talking about anyway? Biologically speaking, Sam will never have any.

Lots of gay people have kids, yes, even biologically. Surrogates. IF he does ok in the NFL, he should have plenty of money to pay one. Assuming he wants kids, of course.

...

I know we're in the MU heads on the reg, but I didn't think we were in the thoughts of the player's parents even.

From the article -

Sam Sr., who described himself as "old-school," told the newspaper the idea of a gay player in the NFL bothers him, even when that person could be his own son.

He told the newspaper that late Hall of Famer Deacon Jones, the leader of the Rams' Fearsome Foursome who is credited with terming the word sack, "is turning over in his grave."

and then...

quote:

"I'm closer to my friends than I am to my family," Sam told the newspaper.

Sounds like someone's got some issues of his own he needs to work out. Is Deacon turning over because of his son being gay, or because Sam Sr comes off as being a shitty father? Since when does being "old school" mean being closer to your friends than your own flesh and blood?
