I claim 12. The NCAA recognizes AP/UPI/BCS which Bama has 8 (eat it bitches). Nothing anyone can do to change that, no matter how much the jealous SEC teams that Bama has owned over the years try.

Plus the 4 Rose Bowl Championships. Sorry for the SEC teams that never could nor never will be able to claim one.

41 is bogus. 73 and 78 are AP titles. Hard to argue with that regardless of the logic used. Unless the AP or BCS grants Bama the 2011 title, you won't see any banner. Nice flame.

You mad, bro?

I don't think anyone is mad. It's called mockery. All the other schools are making fun of Bama. Bama is like the kid in elementary school who thinks the participation ribbon means he actually won something. That kid always got made fun of. That is Bama when they claim some of these ridiculous NCs. I LOVE that Bama claims those. Gives us something real to point and laugh at. So, yea, not mad at all. Quite pleased and entertained by it all.

If it is just like in 2003 we will claim half of it just to make you mad!

And FWIW, the 1978 USC win in B'ham vs Bama was as fluky as they come. E.g., 2 Bama defenders, each in perfect position to intercept a pass, collide tipping the ball to an SC receiver who runs 50-60 yds for a TD, etc. That SC team wouldn't have beaten Bama again in 4 or 5 consecutive tries. Bama was without question the better team that year.

This is the purist illustration of "BammerTard" that one can find: USC's win at Bammer in 78 was "as fluky as they come" and thus should be discounted.

Just like LSU's 2011 victory over Bammer in Tuscaloosa is to be dismissed because Bammer "beat themselves" and LSU "did nothing".

I see how it works now.

Bama is dismissed. Discussion and analysis is completed. Bama has Four Legit NCs.

Pfsssst . . . . I didn't say it should be discounted.

I said Bama deserved their ranking after all was said and done.
USC subsequently lost to ASU, ended the regular season ranked #3. They went into the Bowls ranked behind #2 Alabama and #1 Penn State and received a gift in the RoseBowl vs #5 UofM. #2 Bama beat #1 Penn State in the SugarBowl. USC still jumped them in one of the two polls.

ETA: Worth noting -- the previous year (1977) #5 ND had beaten #1Texas in the Cotton, while #2Bama destroyed #9OhioState in the Sugar. ND jumped Bama in the final rankings and was declared consensus #1 because they had beaten the #1 ranked team. Bama only received half that consideration in 1978.

Not sure if serious

The Rose Bowl matches the PAC10 champion against the Big 10 champion. There was no choice in the matter. Sugar could have taken a team other than Penn State though...

The gift was the horrid call resulting in a touchdown (referenced earlier) against UofM that USC never actually scored

No matter how many times you say this, facts are facts. Bama has 8 AP/UPI/BCS titles.

How long will it take for LSU to get 8 titles? How many have you got now.... 3? Even if LSU wins one this year, you'll still only have half of what Bama has. So learn to live with it.
