How is OU a gimmick offense?

Having a quarterback that knows how to complete a forward pass doesn't make you a gimmick offense.

WG, you don't understand. Guice tore up incredible defenses like A&M, Texas Tech, Western Kentucky, and South Carolina.

He is obviously better than guys Samaje Perine and Royce Freeman.

This will be bumped.

Why will it be bumped? I've said incredibly positive things about Guice including that he's one of the best 3 back ups in the SEC. I think he's going to be very good this season. I just don't think he's a top 5 back in college football already with 13 rushing yards in his career against top 50 defenses.

Shouldn't be a hot take.

Look Guice is nice but that freshman year was garbage minutes and many vs bad teams

Fournette was carrying the ball in prime time with every eye on him in big games

Guice will no doubt be playing on Sunday's barring injury and will shape up to be a top back for LSU in my lifetime

Saying he's rushed for more yards than all of Bama's backs combined isn't sunshine pumping.

It's a cold hard fact.

Look I can understand this but it's not like Guice's runs were strait line runs without a hand on him. He's throwing dudes off of him an running through multiple defenders at a time. Just about every run he broke at least two tackles. Garbage time or not there is something to be said for that.

Alfred Blue was an NFL starter last year

not due to him winning the job. he started due to injuries. he also averaged only 3.8 ypc

yes, the defense was worn down after LSU pounded the ball for 2.5-3 quarters. Can you imagine the damage Fournette would do against tired, shitty defenses on fresh legs?

So you don't think defenses sub guys in and out either? Who gives a shite if they don't have fresh legs anyway. 3-4 guys should be able to take down one ball carrier regardless.

You're being objective.

Apparently you can't say "Guice is incredibly talented, but hasn't faced great defenses yet" without feeling the wrath of some LSU fans.

I just hope there's no one out there who think Guice had a more impressive freshman season than Chubb.

Guice is a fast 220 pound back with very good vision and moves. He also has a style in which he initiates contact, and uses it to prevent the tackler from wrapping him up.

It's strange that LSU has never had great backs. We've had lots of good ones, but never a Bo, Hershal, or even a McFadden or Chubb, until now - and we get two of them in back-to-back classes.

With that said, he's not as good as Fournette.

Nobody said he was better than Fournette. Anybody that wants to just blindly quote stats has never seen Guice run. He breaks lots of tackles, pushes the pile, always falls forward. Wait til the season starts, yall will see.

No one is blindly quoting stats. I was using stats to help build context around Guice's performance. He's obviously a very talented running back and I don't think anyone disagrees with that.

There were people who said his Freshman season was better than Fournette's.

i don't think 160 yards against South Carolina was better than Fournette's games against Ole Miss, Florida, or Notre Dame, but whatever you say
