LSU fans are now on par with Ole Miss, MSU and USM fans in that they can no longer be happy over their victories but instead have to wait for their big bad brother to lose to someone else to have something to be happy about

Obviously. LSU fans were bitching after WE BEAT AUBURN. Winning no longer makes us happy.

How does the outcome of the Iron Bowl help LSU this year?

People all around will be looking at Auburn after they knocked off the team to beat and wondering who their one loss was to (if they don't know already)...they will find out that they lost to LSU. It will be repeated many times on national sports shows, etc. It keeps LSU's name out there even though they're not in championship contention and makes LSU look good (especially since LSU won by 14).

Perception.

If you are pretending that some LSU fans aren't circle jerking due to the Iron Bowl you are living in fantasy land.

I bought a Chris Davis jersey and have been doing the Heisman pose for days.

LSU fans living through AU

This is like one country figuring out the cure for a pandemic. No reason for everyone not to be happy. Except for the virus of course.

Meh. The over celebration by LSU fans is a sad representation of the rest of us.

I'm not living through Auburn. I well remember the hate that we all had for Tubs after the chop blocks, cigar smoking, and other stunts that went on while Auburn was our main rival in the West. Having said that, I was glad to see Auburn beat Bama to bring a little humility back to the Bama fan base. It was well time for them to come back to earth.

Have you forgotten how much we dislike AU as well? I find this "got a second" stuff pathetic. The only program I am concerned about is LSU. Living through AU now (or Mizzou later) is weak. I am more concerned with our program's lack of dominance in recruiting NELA kids today than something that LSU has nothing to do with.

Congrats to AU they have had a bad stretch. You earned the right to got ATL when nobody thought you stood a chance this year. Bama-you have a great run with a lot of luck and you're not even out of the picture yet. You live in a world where you essentially make the rules. You have a good life.

Me thinks you take sports a bit too seriously. Have fun with it. You don't need to silo yourself into being "I need my gameface on for my tigers, I am the true fan". You witnessed one of the most incredible games in college football history which took down a dynasty. It happened to be against a school that has been owning this division and college football for some time. I hope I never have the outlook you do.

If thats the case then more reason for them to want to rub it in even if its just to troll the fans that have been a pain in their arse for a while.

I make no allusion that LSU fan's love AU now. I do think they are thankful that the game brought some reality to a fanbase who were wondering how their team would do against an NFL team.
