You did go 50 years without an SEC title. That's pretty embarrassing.

1932 to 1957 is 25 years.

1957 to 1983 is 26 years.

1983 to 1987 is 4 years.

1987 to 2004 is 17 years.

2004 to 2010 is 6 years.

2010 to 2013 is 3 years.

Since 2008 AU is 49-28. Not bad at all, but not "elite" compared to LSU or Bama during that stretch. Take out AU's two flukey type seasons of 2010 & 2013 and your record is 23-26. I would say that is, in fact, "collectively shitty".

How convenient that you take out the "flukey" good season, but NOT the "flukey" BAD seasons.

Did they ever go winless in the SEC during that stretch?

During that stretch, Vandy was maintained on their schedule as a "traditional" (and very convenient) rival.

AU never had that luxury.

Technically Bama went winless in the SEC twice during that stretch when you look in the record books.

Ya'll should be on an elite level but don't pretend like you weren't in one of the roughest periods of football by a top program in the modern football era

Hey thanks for reminding those of us who lived through it. You guys are real history buffs.

Did you have to go to the library to uncover this breaking news?

Also, ya'll are only 4-3 against Auburn with Nick Saban

Considering those three losses include Saban's first year with a bunch of Shula players, One of the best players ever leading a comeback and only winning by a point, and a gay 109 yard FG return for a TD as time expired, I'm willing to let it slide.

The point differential between Bama/Auburn since Saban has been in Tuscaloosa is quite something though.

everyone not old enough to be going through a midlife crisis has seen AU have a better overall stretch than Alabama.

So, how about we start with the Dye era.

We've won 4 titles since then, to your one.

I guess it depends on how you define success.

Too far back? Go to 1990. Same numbers.

To recent? Need to go back to 1970? 1960? Hint: it doesn't get any better.

Auburn has definitely been more competitive with Alabama since 1980 than any other era--you may even have the head to head, and I'm not looking at total win percentages, SECCGs, etc. But for the things that matter to us, I wouldn't trade.

The whole point of the thread was a reminder that you don't stay at the mountaintop forever. Some Bama fans forget that they weren't even near the fricking mountain till Saban came

Yet we've been to the mountaintop more than anyone else.

My question for the Auburn flamers is: if Alabama is this mediocre program, why do you care if we cheat at recruiting?

Completely missed the point of the thread brosky. It is that Alabama fans act take for granted what they have in Saban and their success and don't realize how shitty they were before he came.

No, unlike idiots like you who root for vastly inferior programs we understand something.

We had a down period, which came after a period where we had won yet another national title. Before that we had the Perkins years...which came after winning more national titles. That sort of thing has been repeated through our history...with more national titles along the way.

You can't be great every year. We're just great more than everyone else.

30 years is longer than a short period. Y'all were irrelevant for over an entire generation of kids growing up to college age. You were Consistently riddled with NCAA probation.

Hell, I'd bet the majority of this board that are Bama fans on the board were not even in college or older to experience any real success. So I'm not sure how you know you will be relevant again since it never really happened in your adult lifetime. It's a fairy tale y'all were hoping to come true that just happened to work out
