Also has 184 rushing yards...

and I don't think anyone expects him to run wild and beat LSU or Bama, but he did run pretty damn good in the first half against the UF defense which is just as fast as any other SEC defense. He will improve as the season goes along, and hopefully won't have to run so much.

SMU is struggling this year, they have been decent the last 2 with a W against TCU in Fort Worth last year. They actually have a pretty decent offense but A&M completely shut them down. The beatdown by A&M was a little worse this year but not much compared to last season at Kyle. A&M was an 11-13 point favorite and obviously made it ugly.

Actually Manziel has pretty good accuracy and a stronger arm than some accuse him of. Showers has the "let me show you my pretty 60 yard spiral" arm but Manziel can still fling it. At least A&M has some QB depth though.

No sane Aggie expects us to have more than a punchers chance against Bama and LSU. The key is how Manziel can do in the other games. Bama and LSU are "Got nothin' to lose" games.

If Manziel will continue to throw deep early and continue to learn the offense so he knows where all his receivers are he could really be something special. The kid has great instincts and absolutely no fear.

my main concerns with JFF are his accuracy and touch. He missed a few open deep balls and threw behind his WR too often.

Of course its hard to gripe b/c this was only his second game and I thought he noticeably improved with his passing and pocket presence. Obviously take that with a grain of salt b/c SMU just can't match the talent level of A&M. He did seem to read field a bit better this time and wasn't as quick to just take off.

His fearlessness is perhaps his greatest asset.

and would be one of my biggest fears. He needs to learn to slide at some point.

Agreed. That's why I said earlier all his running around makes me nervous.

With only two games down, Manziel is a work in progress.

A really athletic and fearless work in progress, with a solid college arm, but still has lots to improve.

I did notice him staying in the pocket when he had time. I still haven't noticed him hitting his 3rd progression WR.

But he's a Freshman. I expected less, am happy with what I've seen, and excited about the future.

Dude is a playmaker. He creates passing windows and gets guys wide open with his ability to keep the play alive. He can be a solid player... but I'm not sure he's the right fit for the Air Raid.

I think we can adjust the offense around him. I'd really like to see more pistol and option stuff.

Yep. He is going to be good, very good.

Can tell just by the way he moves around and his demeanor out there.

Dude is a player and A&M is fortunate due to the fact he will be their for 4 yrs. They will have to worry about an injury due to his running.

Would love to have him on our team--looks like he enjoys the competition.

Actually, it was MUCH MUCH WORSE.

-With 13:58 left in the half last year, the score was 20-14 A&M. SMU didn't score until 7:01 left in the 3rd quarter to make it 27-3 A&M.

-SMU had 268 yards passing and 79 yards rushing last year. This year, they had 203 yards passing and 106 rushing.

-Last year, Zach Line had 128 yards rushing. This year, 104.

-Last year, A&M had 246 yards passing and 212 yards rushing. This year, they had 380 yards passing and 225 yards rushing.

-a 45 point margin on the road is much worse than a 32 point margin at home.

-This was only the third(?) time a June Jones team was held without a touchdown in 20 years?

I've been trying to come up with another qb that had his skill set. I really can't think of one... He's got some flutie in him for sure, but a muuuuch better athlete.
