Honestly I don't get why this went 7 pages. Is everybody just going "Yuck, yuck, Chavis is SUING A&M?" Because that ain't what I read.

If everybody is just having fun yucking it up, carry on. I'll go back to my old man cave.

And why exactly would Chavis need to sue A&M to get them to pay the buyout?

Because if we just paid it normally it would count as compensation for him, like any other buyout.

actually it was Gradual Stroke being an idiot that made this go 7+ pages.

Anyways here are my thoughts. LSU can move this to Federal court as it is between two states and in excess of $250,000. based on the contractual wording from the article in the Advocate, my opinion is that Chavis will have to pay. I doubt that TAMU is responsible for paying any of it, but I wouldn't be surprised if they pay it anyways.

Other idiotic statements in this thread... TAMU does have a Law school... but it has not been around long enough for any Judge to be a graduate from it.

Nope Judge Bryan is as honest and as ethical as they come. He is one of the very few people who work in the justice system that I respect.

Stroke did good.

This isn't the typical and very common LSU fan started thread about A&M

Their AD is still pissed that he and Miles flew all the way up there on the 3rd only to be shown the door.

idk what point you're trying to make, but I have a feeling it won't hold much weight.

No real jd in Texas - contract executed in and breached in LA and probably a forum selection clause. LSU should sue Chavis in federal court in baton rouge. Then have the federal judge enjoin the state court action in Texas, which only a federal court can do. That my boys is how you get it done

The discovery process during the course of this litigation will be awesome. LSU will depose Chavis, Sumlin, recruits, players etc. They will be able to get into any correspondence, emails, etc between Chavis and any aTm employee, player , or recruit he had contact with through st least mid-February. Ths will become, at the very least, a huge distraction for aTm.
LSU will be able to make them testify under oath and will find out everything said and done by Chavis.
You can bet that if they just happen to uncover any irregularities, recruiting or otherwise, It will make news.
