I don't see why they wouldn't. His contract was pretty straightforward.

Have you read it?

Youngkin is a serious die hard Aggie, his involvement tells me that this is not a hostile action against A&M.

I was interested to hear this as well. He's as good a guy as I've ever known and loves the school, so I can't imagine him being associated with something that would be damaging to the university.

No, but I've read direct quotes from Chavis and Joe Alleva regarding it. 11-23 months left on his deal= $400,000 to LSU

0-10 months left= $0 to LSU

December 15th was when his contract expired.

He resigned on January 4th.

And he's suing aTm as well.

Suing your employer seems counterintuitive, but that's just me.

I also don't give a shite if he ends up paying or not. Had he waited 11 days, he wouldn't have to. It's not like LSU is banking on this $400k for stadium renovations or some shite.

Really? The other Aggie posters have insinuated that he will cheat and dodge the law in order to insure a win for his case. He sound like an unethical lawyer to me

A&M and Chavis are smart. Now this is settled in a College Station court, by an Aggie judge

On January 5, Chavis says he turned in this 30-day notice to terminate the contract without cause, making his last day February 4.

Pretty sure he doesn't get to decide how long before LSU terminates it within that 30 day window. Not to mention he was out recruiting for aTm well before February 4th.

And I misspoke, it was the 5th, not the 4th.

But LSU finna eat.

It genius, and probably was our idea.

If LSU loses, nothing happens.

If LSU wins, we pay the bill and not Chavis which means he won't have to deal with the tax hit as would happen if we paid him the money to pay it through compensation.

If LSU terminated his employment...no breach on his part.

known the man since my freshman year in college over 10 years ago and have never heard anything of the sort. And I could be mistaken, but don't think believe any Ags were insinuating that, either.

Initiating a 30 day notice of termination is not the same thing as firing someone.

Kinda like when you turn in a 2 weeks notice, and your employer says 'don't worry about it, just pack up today.'
