The wrong team represented the East in 2012. South Carolina was better than UGA, and beat them on the field. The schedule hammered the Cocks by sending them to Baton Rouge the very next week, while UGA got to play weaker West opponents. Send UGA to Baton Rouge in 2012 and they would have lost as well.

We also beat an otherwise undefeated UF team that hammered USCe.

And you have no way of knowing we would have lost to LSU that year.

I hate these threads.
I like UF being our permanent rival. Id much rather sit out in the blaring sun and watch us play UF than having to sit through a game against Kentucky or Vanderbilt.

Did you play any sports in HS or college?

Just curious

Bigger than mine?...damn.

FWIW I wish Alleva would leave it alone and we just go to a 6-1-2 model.

Why would you expect LSU to say anything different? We don't like our permanent rival because historically they are more dangerous than us, and they have stopped us from getting to Atlanta on more than one occasion. That is the truth.

But you want to know what else is the truth?

We have no tie to Florida at all. Would you be truly interested in playing the same fricking school every damn year and you have no real reason to? Alabama and Tennessee have history. Auburn and Georgia have history. We get it. LSU has no storied history with any of the teams from the east. If all those teams were equal, we have no greater love for playing Florida than we would for Georgia, Vanderbilt or Tennessee.

Also, more than any other SEC West team, LSU has the hardest path to Atlanta.

LSU fans will happily acknowledge that the Florida game is difficult for us every single year. Will you acknowledge that it's a completely arbitrary game based on no real rivalry... that we are forced to endure for the benefit of Auburn, Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee? If not... seriously, shut the hell up. LSU and Florida play this game so your precious rivalries can be preserved. And you have the nerve to call us out when we say we don't like it?

I didn't even see yours. I hope wade wasent serious, I don't think he was.

I'd like to see a 9 game SEC schedule with the removing non bcs conference ooc games.

Most Florida fans I know enjoy playing LSU every year.

Hell, if we didn't play Auburn every year, LSU would be my next choice of someone I'd want to play yearly.

That's my sentiment exactly. I know we've played them steady since 71 but to me they have always just been a team to us. No disrespect, i'm sure they feel the same way. If they ever switched AU and Mizzou, I'd much prefer everyone go to a 6-3 model save UA/UT who could use a 6-1-2. (Though to be honest I'd miss the LSU/AU series...for some reason usually one of the most hard hitting and interesting games for us of the year).

Mainly because it just isn't going to happen. AU/UGA and UA/UT aren't going to operate on a different schedule model than the other teams and those rivalries aren't going to stop.

Who gives a shite. I like playing Florida, even though it's not a "rivalry game." It's not like Florida is some big powerhouse right now who beats LSU every year and it is usually a great game every year. The SEC needs to work on making Tenn relevant again, because as it stands now, only Bama and Tenn fans care about the rape fest that is TSIO.

As an LSU fan I love the Florida game, I hope they never take it away. But I understand what Alleva is doing and I'm sure joe knows it's not going to change.

The problem with a 9 game schedule is that it's always going to screw someone over on their home schedule. Also, weaker schools are never gonna go for it. How is a team like Kentucky going to get to a bowl game if they have 9 conference games? We should either eliminate permanent opponents, or keep 1 and schedule the 2nd based on previous seasons' rankings. Also, make it so that cross division games don't affect standings; that'll make it a non-issue.

Despite losing 7 in a row, I never hear UT fans complain about having to play Alabama every year. Why do LSU fans complain about Florida? We should'a kept Tulane if you ask me
