Do you think Gus's Offense can be just as efficient/consistent with a pocket passer as it is with a guy who is a constant run threat?
Yup and it's going to be nasty. The entire passing playbook will be available to complement and balance the power/misdirection run game.

Bond is going to be higher (if granted at all) if he's considered to be a flight risk.

Coates & Williams were eating Arky's defense up. I seriously can't tell if they were that good or Arkansas was that bad.
Either way, he has poise in the pocket, a nice arm, and quick delivery. Johnson to Williams will be hard to stop next year.

quote:Absolutely. The only question really is if Johnson can live up to the over the top hype. I think he can, but wouldn't be shocked of he underwhelms either.

I think this is the main reason the offense will be different but just as effective. Nick Marshall was tremendous at the read option but not an efficient passer on the short and intermediate routes. He was so good running though that it didn't matter.
Johnson's accuracy will force teams to respect the pass more and keep the running lanes open.

It was the first game with a new defensive coordinator.

You're making an incorrect assumption that Johnson won't be running the ball much.

Considering that Gus had a 5000 yard passer at Tulsa, the answer is yes.
didn't Nutt beat that tulsa team with a Hog team that went 5-7

I believe Johnson will run the ball more than people think

Considering JJ could only manage a tie with little ole Arkansas, I'm going to say no.
His last two non-running QBs were Chris Todd and Barrett Trotter. Robb Smith finna eat.

He was only co-coordinator. What's your troll, I mean point?

So what does that have to do with a pro-style passer excelling in his offense? Sean White is next in line and also a pro-style guy.

Well they obviously knew nothing about how to cover WRs.
eta: Most of the clips from the JJ highlight tape was gadget plays anyway, so it's hard to fault a young defense.
