The fact that McIntyre has been a bit shaky lately, DVH wasn't left much of a choice tonight.
Oh I definitely understand and agree with going to Gaeckle (I’d argue he’s our second best pitcher on this entire staff). I’m saying I wish we didn’t have to because I wish we’d give Hagen...
Our defense is better than people realize. It’s not a 4 shortstop infield like we had in 2022 with Moore, Battles, Wallace, and Stovall, but they have kept quite a few runs off the board, especially when Molina and Tygart can’t hit their spots and gift base runners....
The problem is that we consistently use our two best pitchers in the same game. Until I see our lineup stop taking Fridays off and afford us the ability to use Gaeckle in longer relief of Molina or Tygart given their inconsistency issues, I’ll be skeptical. I fully expect us to play some tea...
Diggs just flips a coin before the ball is released as to whether he’s going to swing or not. It’s the only explanation.
His plate approach has been atrocious this season. He’s always been overly patient at the plate, but this year the book is out that he’ll look at 2 fastballs...
I know this is weird to say given our record and ranking, but I’m under no illusion that this is an Omaha squad. Our pitching (Hagen aside) has evened out, and this squad simply can’t hit the ball or score runs without being gifted base runners by way of walks, errors and HBP’s. The level of...
Florida bringing in another right-hander with an ERA of 568.3 that we won't touch.
We have a habit of making mediocre pitchers look like steroid era Roger Clemens. ...
Why have Stovall, Diggs and Mclaughlin all reverted? Why does it happen every damn season?
The answer you’re looking for is Nate Thompson. ...
Yep. He's been damn near perfect all year and has almost had to be. No damn support.
I had a post a week or two ago about this, but this is the pitiful arse run support he’s gotten in his starts this year. SC - 2 Bama - 5 (no runs after the 3rd) Ole Miss - 5 (4 runs after he e...
This lineup is really pissing me off in Hagen’s starts. ...
As expected we're making the worst staff in the conference look like the 98 Braves.
A Nate Thompson lineup struggling against lefties. Tale as old as time. ...
Why would you use Helfrick as the DH? That should be Sousa.
Helfrick might be a sub .200 hitter but he hits the absolute shite out of the ball every time he makes contact. ...
Wilmsmeyer also in the lineup :banghead:...
This. DVH is also a big believer that pitchers (especially starters) have a finite number of innings in them each year, so he’s always quicker to pull them early or rest them as needed and bank those for down the road. Hence why we really haven’t seen Hagen go past 6 this season despite consiste...
Here’s hoping they bump up first pitch Friday to very early afternoon if not midday, and can squeeze in a few innings Saturday. ...
Was wondering about that. The forecast up here is bad. What’s the SEC process for a complete series rainout? Just wipe it from the books or try to squeeze one DH on Monday? I’m assuming no since we have a 2 game midweek series with Missouri State starting Tuesday, and Florida has a midweek Tuesd...
We definitely need to take care of business at Baum against a Florida team in freefall. ...
If you'd have told me we'd go 4-1 against Tech and SC, I'd have taken that in a heartbeat. We may not have looked pretty doing it, but those are two good teams, one of them on the road which has been our Achilles heel somewhat this year....

At this point I think it's between Ole Miss and Mizzou for who sits out with Auburn. LSU is too talented to shite the bed down the stretch. ...
you just need a couple of those balls off the bats to have seeing eyes. Those couple of extra hits could snowball into something huge.
That’s effectively what happened yesterday when we broke out in the 7th. In the 2nd, it was the same MO as usual where we got a couple of char...
Is there such a thing as a bad good team? If there is, we are it.
Absolutely, and that’s us to a T. ...
