Nobody says a peep about UT because we suck. We as a fanbase have accepted that. What ya'll havent accepted is that in the past 5 years, with an "elite" "talent-laden" roster, you have accomplished nothing besides two SEC east championships. Yet you are still touted as preseason contenders every year for god knows why. You have Chokes-On-Richt. He'll never win big.

Going into this year we're a top 10 team, but nobody is saying we're at the front of the title race.

It's really bad no matter who you have played. Your friend, the OP, asked the question if Georgia will be the mirror image of 2012 Alabama due to the talent UGA lost on defense. Such an argument is asinine because, while Alabama lost 8 starters off a defense that is among the greatest of all-time, they still finished #1 in the country in 3 of the 4 major defensive categories in 2012. Georgia is losing virtually all of its star players off a defense that finished #18 in Scoring Defense, #32 in Total Defense, and #80 in Rushing Defense.

What he said. Alabama had an outstanding defense, lost a bunch, and still had an outstanding defense.

As to the 'it looks bad because of who they played' argument I say bullshait. They also gave up over 200 yards rushing to Kentucky and South Carolina. Tennessee (560 total yds) was 3 yards shy of 200.

Georgia had a mediocre to poor defense and lost a bunch. If they 'mirror Alabama', that means they'll still have a mediocre to poor defense. No matter how good they are on offense, they'll have a couple or more days where it doesn't click and they'll lose. They may well win the east, but until they get serious about defense that's the limit.

No crystal for you.

Don't even give us that shite. ESPN sucks UGA's dick.

When? I'm sure anythign looks like dick sucking since nobody says a peep about tennessee. I'm sure we've been mentioned several times as a "darkhorse" or a top 10 team, but 2008 is the only year where people have said "UGA is a national title team and one of the frontrunners". That's it.
Well, there were some pretty good hummers given to UGA by ESPN in 2003, even after LSU won the first game. Trev Alberts had to wipe the spunk off his face every time he talked about yall.

No. Talent wise, no doubt, but there is a drop off in terms of coaching.

To be fair, they were only a tipped pass away from winning it all last year. It just shows how little we all know about football. Luck is a bigger factor then people realize. But the answer to the question is no. UGA can be UGA and win it all, they dont need to mirror Bama.

Our roster is talent laden. Nobody says it's elite, other than you apparently. If you listen to rational, knowledgable UGA posters like myself you'd know that. We have a great deal of talent, very good talent, but we're not elite talent simply because while we're getting top 10 recruiting classes the bama, lsu, and floridas are getting top 3 talent.

Yeah, and in the past 5 years that's tied for the 2nd most appearances in the SEC. Bama has 3, while us and uf have 2. lsu, au, and sc have 1.

contenders for what? We're touted as a top 10 team because we are. As I have said countless frickin times, 2008 was the only year in the preseason we were considered a front runner for a title.

Really, in the preseason? Going into 2003 we lost our leading RB, the best WR in school history, ALL FIVE OL starters, all 3 linebackers, and several of the secondary. If the media said we were a national title contender going into 2003 I would be shocked. Do you have a link?

Yes, if the Tide goes 11-1, look for UGA to go 1-11.

You do realize that a mirror image is the exact opposite, right? Upon further review, the post that said this thread is asking if UGA will be like Auburn as a result of this observation has it handled. Carry on.

Bama has won 2 of those, and LSU, Florida, and Auburn have won 1. How bout them Dawgs?

Ya'll constantly have the easiest path to ATL, you consistently have the easiest cross division games, your competition in the east is WAY down from years past, yet with all your talent you still manage to throw away your chance every year with one game that you manage to screw up royally. Of course, because of your schedule, you still win the east, and then lose in ATL, even though its basically a home game for ya'll. You should have won the NC at least once in the past 5 years, but you haven't even won the SEC. Now that UF and USCe are back, and due to Chokes-on-Richt and your loss of so many startes, ya'lls spot in the limelight is fading fast.

We play our division just like everyone else. We play the cross division games assigned to us by the SEC just like everyone else. We have @clemson, SC, and LSU in the first month of the season this year. Quit crying.

It's on a rotation moron. Sorry we can't see that 5 years down the road is gonna be bad or not.

your competition in the east is WAY down from years past,

If it's so easy then how come other east teams aren't winning it more often?

why? Why should we have? The last 5 years there have been other teams that are better than us. I guaran-damn-tee if a UGA fan said what you just did he'd be lambasted.

Now that UF and USCe are back

We've beaten UF the last 2 years chief. And I think it's funny you have to cling to what 2 other east teams are doing against us because your team can't.

That's to be determined, but I would highly disagree. And your play on words is like something a 6th grader would come up with.

Both Florida and USCe won 11 games I'd say the East is competitive again.

How did we screw it up this year?

I'm sorry that we had a pass tipped last SECCG. And who the frick are you to talk? Tennessee hasn't been relevant since 2007.

We have been a force in the SEC for pretty much every year Richt has been coach and our are an all time top 10 program.

I'm not crying, we play Bama every year. It's about f-ing time ya'll play a decent schedule for once

UT is in a historic collapse, UF just got some stability back after a coaching change, it took Spurrier a few years to bring USCe up to SEC standards, Vandy UK Mizzou have never won and probably will never win the SEC east. If Bama, LSU, and A&M are down, and Auburn is good, is Ole Miss gonna win the West? probably not.

Yes, but how have you done against USCe? And last years WLOCP was one of the ugliest games i've ever seen. Ya'll won, but UF kicked your asses. Yeah UT sucks right now, i've accepted it, and that's why i'm not arguing that UT is going to do anything special this year.

USC, UF, and UGA all have equal shots at the east now. The playing field is being leveled. UGA just doesn't have the advantages that they've had for the past few years. And Richt is a joke. I hope he stays in Athens forever.
