You can look down the road to Austin and see that this is often not the case.
Texas had the perfect storm of shite hit their program starting in the 2010 national title game.
It's unlikely we have their similar run of terrible fortune and failed coaching. They are the exception, consistent elite classes usually yield lots of top-10 finishes.

Honestly, we have many more advantages than those schools you listed, other than maybe Florida (and they don't have the $ that we have). There is no rational reason we shouldn't have just as much if not more success than they have.
We've been hearing this crap for decades still just mediocrity to show for.
You are who you are. You are dorks.

If you're not finishing in the top 10 at least 3 out of 5 years you can't even begin to claim to be a perennial top 10.

What you got? Stop the stupid bravado talk, refer to onfield results. You know what you got? NOTHING

South Carolina has benefited enormously from the decline of the SEC East. I am not sure that situation is going to last much longer either.
You know what I'm really tired of people using this excuse. We can play and beat any team in the western side of the division.

Stars won't mean shite when LSU RBs getting hit in the backfield. Only got 2 OL and you aren't worried?
Just got a 5* out your back yard. If you can magically build this baddass D-line in 2 years, I think we will be ok.

Well in that case...
South Carolina has beaten LSU once since it joined the SEC.

They most likely won't finish any better than 4th in their own freaking division man. A+M is a joke without JF. Come on bro, they play in the SE west and don't know how to play defense. How in the hell can they ever start rolling if they keep getting rolled over.
Of coarse, 4th place in the SEC west does sometimes wind up being ranked around 10th when it's all said and done.
