So since Peterson is one of the most freakishly great athletes and workhorse backs of all time we should just assume LF will be too because someone compared them.... Okay.

Again, plenty of RBs have had thousands of carries over their career. I would go to bet a lot of them didn't get run into the ground as often as what Saban did Henry, too. You have your highest risk when you decide to put tired guys into games who have high chance of injury. RB is a very high risk job with the way you get tackled.

Henry had more carries last year than other Bama backs in the Saban era due to Drake's injuries. And Saban didn't "run him into the ground" as you said. I would bet that Lynyrd to date in his career has more rushes per game than any of Saban's RBs have had at Bama. In fact, I would wager that several other LSU RBs under Les have had more rushes per game than Bama's RBs have had.

Probably a better comparison would be number of carries per game. I honestly don't know what the breakdown would be in that case, or even if it would change anything.

Since 2008, here are the career rush per game averages of every RB that has led either Bama or LSU is rushing in any single season (Number of Games played):

Ingram (39) - 14.67
Richardson (38) - 14.18
Lacy (37) - 9.32
Yeldon (39) - 14.77
Henry (40) - 15.05

Scott (43) - 9.86
Ridley (39) - 7.85
Ware (36) - 8.19
Ford (37) - 6.57
Hill (23) - 15.00
Fournette (25) - 19.48

So, you'd lose that bet.

ETA: This shows each coach's tendencies. Saban prefers two backs to get the majority of the touches. Miles either goes completely by committee, or has a single workhorse.

Yep. 2015 is the first year that hasn't happened in his 9 seasons at Alabama.

It's also the first time he's had an injury prone backup since then, which explains it.

I liked Drake a lot, but the dude is made of glass.

Henry didn't start his whole career at Alabama while Fournette has at LSU since he was a freshman. Why are you even comparing the two?

This is what makes Daniel texag7 such a retard

Miles needs to learn to say no and not put fournette in the game with a 20+ point lead.

Never understood why coaches do this with star players.

Yea, and he's not really a "backup RB". He's a slash/slot guy. His best role was not backup RB, it was what he did.

They wanted Harris to be that #2 (as is tradition), but for whatever reason (slow start for him, OL issues, etc) it never really worked well enough.

I expect a bigger load for Guice this year for this reason alone...LF was winded come Nov. last year, we must avoid that and Guice is damn ready

Yep, Guice and Fournette will end up splitting carries and everyone on the SECR will cry how overrated he is.

I wouldn't say split. I've said since last year I expect Guice to have 1000 from scrimmage.

150 rushes and 20-30 receptions. That leaves 225-250 carries for LF.

ETA: I guess that is basically splitting the carries.

So? I never once said that wasn't the case. I was responding to a specific post. Hence the reason I quoted it.

It relates to the topic. If Bama RBs are overused by Saban, which is the knock on them by some, then LF7 is being overused by a larger margin. I don't believe that personally about any of them, but it certainly can be debated.
