2 Bama traits that trigger me:

Fans who think they know more about football because the team they root for is more successful.

Fans like the ones in this thread who are too dense to appreciate the war machine that Saban rolls out every Saturday, and instead complain about play calling which they obviously don't understand.

thank you CrimsonBoz for being a voice of reason

Plus you had Ole Miss kicking the ball out of bounds on the kickoff after they went up 24-3 which gave Bama field position at midfield to help set up their first touchdown.

I mean, really? So now 5 play, 50 yard TD drives just don't count?

27 pts

Correct, 492 yards and 27 pts.

Again, we have 500 yards and 27 pts and you'd blame that loss on the offense?

The counter would be that the reason we were able to gash late was we wore them down running sideline to sideline for 2.5 qtrs. I don't think it's a given we could have just mashed up the middle for 4 qtrs and run for 375 yards.

That is exactly why he was running those. He wore that defense out

Don't say that, they can't take it when strategy is involved in football.

OP should stop watching football before his BP skyrockets.

don't forget to account for the fact that the defense / special teams took away three possessions on the offense and one of our td drives started at the 50 - so more like 650 - 700 yards probably

-that was a joke btw

Lane Kiffin, as good of an offensive coordinator as he is makes some of the dumbest play calls I've ever seen in my life.

Etling completed a screen pass a couple weeks back, and I swear the cries of ecstasy in Tiger Stadium were accompanied by drops of pure pleasure.

Lane's a sleazy mofo and a shitty HC but he just had the best offense in the history of your program 2 years ago and helped lead you guys to a title last season (that team doesn't win a title without a great offense your defense was good but it was far from 2011 good) maybe, and as a Florida fan I can't believe I'm saying this because we bitch about offense constantly, but maybe cut the douchebag some slack.

I dislike Kiffin but he has put together some very productive offenses at AL.

Exactly.

I assume he's also sick and tired of winning titles since under Kiffin we've won the SEC twice, made the playoffs both times, and won a natty.

I guess he's tired of Nick too since in the Ole Miss postgame, he very specifically said the early sweeps and screens were intentional to set up later plays.

Of course, it is also possible that he's not tired of any of those things and instead is just a dumbass who thinks he knows more than Saban and Kiffin (or he's an alter).

I think i know more about the game than you do, Lane is great, I just thought his playcalling wasnt that great saturday. We did win, but not because of the offense, we won because we got 2 defensive tds and 1 special teams td.

21 > 43 if they're scored by the defense and special teams.

Never knew that. Thanks.

Are you such a homer you cant admit the playcalling wasnt his greatest? Be a realist man. I understand why we were running the jet sweeps but when your down 24-3, i very seriously doubt that was part of the gameplan. you know? The offense did not look great saturday, they did their job, we won the game, but they were not world beaters by any means.

Those are the types of plays you have to call when you have a pathetic quarterback.

I love how our fans make fun of Miles for saying he is stupid for running Fournette off tackle all game. That he lacks any kind of imagination on offense. Then when Bama runs for 335 yards againot a quality opponent they get mad at the way it was accomplished. "Just line up and run the ball. Doesn't matter if the box is stacked and the middle of our line is not as good as it has been. We're Alabygodbama. We can do it".

It literally took ALL 3 phases to win that game. And I'm proud as frick that all 3 units shouldered the load and got the win in a tough environment with a green QB starting his first SEC game away from home.

Do you not think Lane may be just a little limited in his offensive playcalling right now with a new center and a true frosh QB, and a couple of inexperienced RBs?

The last jet sweep that was run was Ridley's second quarter TD, three plays after they went up 24-3.

Stop embarrassing yourself.

Alright, it appears that this thread has drawn in some posters who can talk x & 0 football.

So, what was OM doing with their safeties that made Lane keep calling those screens? I don't pay much attention to detail on TV 'cause you can only see the QB and anybody they give the ball to.

I saw Tony Connor blow up a few plays at the line. Was he threatening from a certain side of he ball? Why could Freshwater never get OJ involved?
