Lane Kiffin, as good of an offensive coordinator as he is makes some of the dumbest play calls I've ever seen in my life.

In the Ole Miss game, Alabama ran the ball with great success (most of the game), and then after a good run he would go right back to trying to bubble screen them to death (which works 10% of the time)

It almost reminded me of the Ohio State game when Derrick Henry was averaging almost 8 yards a carry, but wouldn't feed him. Why go away from something that works?

Bubble screens are a form of play action passing.

Wasn't even close to the same. We threw all the screens early and ran late. It was clearly planned that way, and quite frankly it's hard to disagree with the results.

So we ran screens early (21 points down)

And ran late (outscored them 37-19 after halftime to win)

Thanks for proving my point.

The counter would be that the reason we were able to gash late was we wore them down running sideline to sideline for 2.5 qtrs. I don't think it's a given we could have just mashed up the middle for 4 qtrs and run for 375 yards.

And I say this as someone who was yelling at the TV the first half.

Btw, Alabama had a total of 334 rushing yards last week against Ole Miss.

146 of those yards came from Hurts. But Harris had 144 yards of his own on 16 carries for 9 yards per carry average.

It's frustrating at times no doubt, but when you look at the end results it's hard to bitch too much really.

I don't like it when Bama runs a screen play either.

I definitely agree.. sometimes though its hard to understand why you continually do a play that has little to no success.

I didn't mind how kiffin called the game against ole miss. It was obvious after the FSU game the way to beat ole miss is keeping their defense on the field, so Alabama nickel and dimed them down the field. Those screen passes forced the defense to stay spread out instead of stacking the box to stop the run.

He was obsessed with bubble screens when he coached at SC, us fans were so frustrated by it. His play calling isn't always that great, you guys just have superior talent that's masking some of his deficiencies.

OP is saying that he's sick and tired of trying to loosen the defense in order to create running lanes.

Maybe he preferred the old SEC war of attrition football where both teams butted heads for 3 yds and 21 points pretty much guaranteed a win?

Do you also wonder why they never run that screen play that always gets 10-15 yds, every time?

Tom Brady has made a nice living on screen passes.
