When you are young / weak at oline, with a young qb, an easy way to attack the edges is with bubble screens.

Attacking the edges spreads out the interior of their defense, making it easier to run the bull...

I think he may have gotten away from running a little bit too much at one point, but the bubble screen has contributed to a ton of success for Alabama for the last few years and it needs to keep on happening.

Another one of these threads, dude let me explain:

It's football, it's a chess game, Lane runs certain plays to set up others. He will run screens, pop pass etc, to set up the QB keep. He will run a screen 4 times and run a blast from the screen. He knows what he is doing. There is a reason he is Lane and you are you. Just keep in mind every time you see a weird play you hate, it's all part of a chess game.

Wasn't even close to the same. We threw all the screens early and ran late. It was clearly planned that way, and quite frankly it's hard to disagree with the results.

So you're telling me Alabama planned on being down 24-3 with 3 minutes to go in the first half, score three touchdowns with a seven minute span to tie the game and then run the ball down Ole Miss throat in the second half? Saban must be a seer.

No, I don't think the plan was to go down by 21 pts.

I do think that they stayed true to their offensive game plan, even when it sputtered early and we got in a hole, and that because of it we were able to dominate the LOS the 4th quarter and win the game.

Bubble screens and other high percentage throws are a part of the deal when you're trying to build confidence for a young QB. Take it from an LSU fan, Kiffin could be doing a lot worse calling plays for a QB who isn't quite ready to drop back and work through four reads.

We would have scored 34 pts and had 492 yards

And you'd have placed that loss on the......offense?

Its always been this way under kiffin, and its worked very well with weaker olines relative to our earlier championship teams. We don't have the 08-12 olines that can just line up against a stacked box and get consistent pus the whole game.

So we ran screens early (21 points down)

And ran late (outscored them 37-19 after halftime to win)

Thanks for proving my point.

We couldn't have taken advantage of them in the 2nd half if we hadn't worned them down in the 1st half.

Run their legs off side to side for 2 qtrs ~ then gash 'em with the run in the final 2 qtrs when they are winded/weak/dehydrated/fatigued.

Isn't it fun when people don't understand football George? So infuriating

We should just find the single best play that gets the most yards and run it every time.

did you hear NS say what the game plan was and how it worked out to perfection? If you did not you need to google before you say shite you have no clue about. He gave Kiffen a lot of praise for the game plan and how it worked out

With a frosh QB that literally turned 18 yrs old this weekend, in his first SEC game in a hostile environment.

Hurts has been thrown into the fire pit ~ Kiffin knows what the frick he's doing. And if we can get Geirig Dieter on point, Hurts will gain even more confidence.

Ok guy, seeing as you have Kiffin in your username. You seem to be better than lane whom btw is quite good at his job. We won get over it lol. You refuse to understand it's a chess game.

LOL at all the upvotes for an incorrect post. Bama scored three defensive and special teams TDs against Ole Miss (Eddie Jackson Punt Return, Fumble Return TDs by Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne). That's 21 points off special teams and turnovers. 48 - 21 = 27 points. Plus you had Ole Miss kicking the ball out of bounds on the kickoff after they went up 24-3 which gave Bama field position at midfield to help set up their first touchdown.

Yeah as the one poster stated over 40 points and mad. As an LSU fan do you think we even come close to 48 points against ole miss . Try watcking our offense for the last 8 years and try complaining about 48 points in a game against a good team .

Doesn't matter what Bama does, unless we go undefeated it's hurts/lane fault and we suck.
