Amazing that people think that we can just up and fire a coach for not winning a NC when it had been 20 years since our last SEC Championship. He has won 2 and taken us to 5(6 east titles if you count 07), He has a .737 win percentage, and has won 10 or more games 9 times. He has never missed a bowl game.

I'm not saying we haven't lost games we shouldn't have or shouldn't have won a NC but you can't fire and all-around likeable guy(like it or not, it matters to our administration), without good damn reason And our football program has never been so unstable to warrant a firing.

Having an IPF doesn't necessarily mean wins or losses but when you are the last program in the SEC to commit to building one it,is certainly an indicator of management's dedication to the program. Don't take my word for it. Pruitt said it publicly that he himself, Smart, and Jimbo have sat in recruits living rooms and convinced them that UGA isn't serious about football. Not my opinion, a fact.

As far as drug testing policy goes, I aree with you but there is no denying it puts us behind the curve.

Richt is legitimately UGA's best coach ever. Either UGA is exceptionally horrific at hiring football coaches, or the problems lie more with the program itself. Looking at the level of commitment UGA has shown toward football relative to their peers since the 90s, I tend to lean toward the latter.

UGA has gotten exactly the results it has paid for.

1 - That almost sounds like the "if Johnny jumped out the window, would you jump too?" argument our parents told us growing up.

2 - I think it puts us ahead of the curve & saying we'ld rather win with natural talent than "being recreational".

I can see Freeze taking over for Richt within 3 years.

A - WHAT does an IPF have to do with winning a title? It doesn't improve your team by giving them a "boost".

B - I'm PROUD of the strong drug testing UGA has. I wish more schools would be like that instead of giving people 3rd/4th/...... chances before kicking them off the team!

A- It's an arms race that we are just now entering.

B-I'm not. It's been a hindrance, especially since others aren't going to follow suit.

B - I'm sorry they feel that way. Wasn't too long ago when LSU had somebody fail 3-4 times & still wasn't removed. When is enough ENOUGH?

Also, what does it teach your kids - "it doesn't matter what you do in life"? And, think of the youngsters who look up to these athletes & can't wait to be in those positions.

Yeah, the cheap way has really done well for UGA the past 100 years. You're probably right.

Making your best players sit out games for smoking pot is a good way to get ahead.

You can punish kids without hurting the team and their reputation. Folks like you are the problem.

If he can't win it this year, he needs to get one more. If he hasn't won the East in two years, he should be fired for sure.

Are East titles enough for you all?

That's hard to say without knowing his medical history.

The question every AD has to ask, can we hire a better coach than Mark Richt? In my opinion the answer is No.

Still the fans must be getting tired of losing to USC and UF.

GT 12-2 (What he can hang his hat on)
UT 10-4 (UT has been historically bad)
Auburn 9-5 (Winning a NC and playing for a second negates this record)
USC 6-8 (but 1-4 last 5 years)
UF 5-9 (Last years loss had to hurt)

I am wondering how many decades vol fans can survive without beating Florida? Entering decade #2 and you are still hanging in there.

Richt will remain at Georgia as long as he wants. They just haven't gotten the breaks other SEC programs have (and yes, that includes Alabama).

They love him. He is a very good coach. Who would they get if they fired him? He just craps the bed at some horrible times every year.

He reminds me a lot of Coach Tub. I am a huge Coach Tub fan and always will be.

Can't quibble with this... real life sucks sometimes.

With all the recent changes,(if you don't follow the program you're prolly not aware of the fundamental changes in the direction of how the AD is ran). We've increased our football spending by 35%, increased the overall football support staff by 15 people, we now pay our coaches a competitive SEC salary & our new president's commitment to winning has been made more than clear...

IMO, over the next 4 years Richt has to average 10 wins, win a coupla of SECE titles, an SECC & make the playoffs at least once or he'll be asked to step down & I think most Dawg fans agree...

Everything he needs to reach the top of CFB is being funded/supported & implemented, the sleeping giant might be waking up. We'll see if CMR is the man by 2018...
