Joe Paterno went 16 years at PSU before he won his first NC. Bobby Bowden went 17 years at FSU before he won a NC. Tom Osborne went 21 years at Nebraska before his first NC.

Paterno started in 1980, Bowden in '76, and Osborne in '73. Times have changed a bit since then. More about instant gratification these days

UGA will win a MNC eventually.

I have no doubt about this, but starting to look doubtful it will be under Richt.

The direction of our program is on a good trajectory Coming off a top ten year with plenty of young stars and incoming talent.

With that said, I bet he would be fired if we had a typical vol season of 5 wins and 7 losses.

Anomaly...that's why people question how he's managed to stick around

Interestingly enough, when people want Richt gone, many in our fanbase point to UT running Fulmer out of town and being a completely irrelevant program for the next 7 years as a reason to not mess up a good thing.

Richt could never win a Natty at UGA, we all understand that. But let's not forget, he took over a stale program and immediately put them in the conversation. Whether it's RIcht, Bobo, or Pruitt at the helm of the next title, Richt will always be remembered as a fabric of UGA football. Are we desperate for a championship? Sure, who isn't? But stability and continuity is the foundation for a successful program. See UT and Fulmer fiasco...

Come to think of it, both of these guys are very similar with respect to their ROI when it comes to championships. Maybe there's just something inherent in UGA's makeup in which almost great is good enough.

When besides 2010 has Richt had a fire worthy season? Only an idiot wonders how richt survived another top ten year.

UGA fans accept mediocrity like nobody's business. Richt will probably stay for life.
