Dooley beat Miss State......

Did Miss State have over 15 players under the age of 20 starting?

The school that has won the East more than anyone not named Florida, won the first BCS title, had rushing legends, the best Manning, and is rivals with Alabama is reduced to this? Bragging about a La Tech victory over Sylvester Croom? Seriously?

How am i bragging? You said Miss State so I said Dooley beat them. Anytime La Tech beats a SEC school, its an accomplishment. Miss State was the only team LSU did not completely crush last year besides Alabama, and Miss State was actually supposed to be a really good team last year.

The fact of the matter is UT has had to start from scratch. UT has played over 40 freshmen the past 2 years in key spots. We have less than 10 redshirts the past 2 years. UT was expected to win 6 games with Janzen, Justin Hunter, Tyler Bray, and Herman Lathers. It shouldn't be a shock that UT did so badly when they lost those guys.

You only lost one more game than the six someone supposedly predicted. The last game being UK (where you had Braysus) which brings us full circle.

Great comeback... I can bring up more coaches. Rebuilding takes time. People who matter understand this.

What's the minimum number of wins Dooley had to achieve this season to get an extension? That's the number I'm rooting for. God bless that man.

Everyone predicted UT as a 6 win team BEFORE they knew Tyler Bray, Justin Hunter, Herman Lathers, and Janzen Jackson wouldn't be on the team.

Bray still had a hurt thumb and couldn't even take a snap under center, he also had the flu. Dooley should have never started him that game. That was his mistake. It was a bad game all around from coaching to the players, but bad losses happen all the time. You are lying if you say Les Miles has never had a bad loss.

DOOLEY HAS RECRUITED AMAZING FOR A 28-34 COACH AND IS A VFL!1!1! HE HAS A LAW DEGREE AND ONCE BLOCKED A FIELD GOAL AS NICK SABAN'S SPECIAL TEAMS COACH. HE EVEN SHARES A LAKE HOUSE WITH NICK SABAN IN THE SUMMERS. NICK SABAN SAYS HE WILL SUCCEED AND HE KNOWS MORE ABOUT FOOTBALL THAN YOU EVER WILL BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT A TRUE FAN. YOU SHOULD FEAR HIM BECAUSE HE KNOWS WHAT BEING A VOL MEANS AND HAS EVERYTHING IT TAKES!1!1!1!

When did I say you weren't a true fan? Just because you don't believe Dooley is the guy doesn't mean you aren't a fan. I admit that he actually hasn't given you a lot to cheer for. You have every right to not like him and to think he sucks. Doesn't make you less a fan. Im just pointing out reasons why I'm not judging him yet because I have seen good stuff out of Dooley.

He beat Sylvester Croom one time. He won an independence bowl. He almost won a bunch of games such as Boise, LSU a couple of times, his Mom pulls for him hard . . . that's all I got.

ETA: How could I forget?!? His loss to UK last year was the result of a fatalist eventuality.

Was his first season not good for what he had? We had the same record as Kiffin did his first year(Im counting UNC a win because he did beat them) with a much harder schedule and less talent.

He has recruited great for the circumstances UT has been in, and is usually the first guy to offer a player before they blow up so he is good at evaluating talent. Examples are Patterson, Peters, Santos, Peterman, Jordan Williams, and Mo Couch. I expect it to be a lot better if he can win ball games this year.

Last year was bad but the circumstances were hard to overcome. He lost his 4 best players, including the qb and best reciever. In a pass offense like UT's was last year, its going to be a problem. Look what happened when Keenum went down in 2010. Sumlin went 5-7.

Croom beat Bobby Petrino at Arkansas...

You don't watch a lot of UT football nor do you know about the program he inherited.

LSU beat him fair and square. Chuck Smith screwed us on that one.

They made a freaking rule change after the season because of what happened. It was a stupid rule to begin with. UNC got a penalty and was actually rewarded for it.

Decent, but still a losing record.

LOL. We should have won but we made a hell of a lot of mistakes in the final few minutes which is par for the course for a Dooley team.

I agree with this, but he did have a worse record.

Top 15 classes will not get it done in this league.

Could be a problem considering he has shown nothing that leads me to believe he can win games.

This is why you need to be able to run the ball. Continuing to pass the ball with what we had last year is dumb as frick.

Come on now, there is no way you honestly expected UT to win more than 6 games in 2010.

Thats what happens when you have freshmen across the board playing in key positions. UT held them for the win, if it happened last year, UT wins the game.

What record were you expecting? Tennessee has pretty much been on probation. I don't care how storied the program is, you aren't going to do well in the SEC with what Dooley had his first year.

I agree, it won't get it done. That is why I said given the circumstances he has had. UT will need at least top 10 classes to succeed and I expect to get them if Dooley becomes a winning coach. He had a higher ranked recruiting class than LSU last year eventhough LSU went to the NC and UT lost 7 assistants and a lot of negative recruiting.

quote:

Could be a problem considering he has shown nothing that leads me to believe he can win games.
Thats your opinion, and you may be very right. He could be the worst coach we have ever had. As for me, I don't think its fair to judge him yet. I loved what our offense looked like before Hunter went down. We would have won 8 games if Hunter stayed healthy.

quote:

Janzen, Hunter, Bray, and who?

Herman Lathers. I say Lathers not from an athletic standpoint but from and experience and leadership standpoint. We had two freshmen and a converted fullback starting at linebacker last year. UT desperately needed Lathers experience and knowledge on the field last year.

This is why you need to be able to run the ball. Continuing to pass the ball with what we had last year is dumb as frick.

How bad was our pass rush the first year? Last year it was one of the best in the SEC. I expect the same thing to happen in the run game.

Lol, I easily did. Your boys over there don't like to research the facts. They think a team can win a national championship in one year. I have shut down alot of them on volnation.

Are you sure you shut them down, or did the mods just delete their posts because they were too harsh in ridiculing your delusions?

Why bother? If you're wiling to overlook Dooley's record, delusional comments, and leadership failures, I'm not really sure how anyone is going to be able to reason with you.
