I am not arguing with you as to whether or not Petrino could develop talent. He was perhaps the best college coach in the nation in regards to preparing players for the NFL.

Petrino at Florida, Tennessee or Auburn would be scary. Lights out scary. Dynasty scary.

The real problem is the baggage, make no mistake about it. Petrino the coach is obviously good enough, recruiting and all.

The Kiffin and Pearl fiascos negate any chance of it.

While recruiting would need to improve, that is far from the reason we wouldn't hire him.

We can agree to disagree. I believe recruiting is the most important thing, and if you dont have enough talent, you won't win anything big in the SEC. Petrino would be a NC coach in the big 12 or pac 12, but not the SEC.

I really wouldn't care if we hired a coach with baggage like Petrino. Every good coach is a scumbag. Petrino isn't any different. I know the baggage is the reason UT won't hire him, but if someone like Saban had the same amount of baggage as Petrino, I would be upset if we didn't go after him.

The real risk in keeping Dooley is if he has a decent year this year and it is 3 more years before you can get rid of him and right the ship.

This is my biggest fear
