It does if your team likes TV Money

Threads like this clearly demonstrate how hypocritical SEC fans truly are.

I'm with Tide Saint, of course, SEC teams winning prime time games against OOC opponents is a great thing for the SEC brand. We all need the SEC brand to be very good, if not great.

Fans love to brag about how tough their favorite team's schedule is and how tough the SEC is when it's convenient to say that.

Well........ SEC teams have to win these games or all that bragging about playing tough schedules and playing in a tough conference are nothing, but lies and shite that make you feel good when your team loses to a conference opponent.

Guess what? Your athletic department survives on money generated by the conference distribution. What's bad for the SEC is bad for Georgia, whether it's fewer bowls, or the inability to negotiate a TV contract in seven years because the conference isn't competitive.

Who fricking cares? I watch UGA football for entertainment but I will never donate a dollar to the athletic department or overall care what their bottom line is.

The conference makes a majority of the money from football. Everyone gets that. But there are other sports that help generate money. SEC is probably the only conference as a whole that makes money off baseball. Football will always have television coverage bc of the SEC matchups against each other. There will be OOC matchups that will entice the college football landscape but win or lose those games don't diminish the end result. They will always be the focal point in college football.

TideSaint is exactly right. If the conference teams you play within the Sec fail to produce in non conference games, then beating them means far less.

He is 100% spot on.

Graduates care. Students care. Sidewalk fans in Americus, who have never seen a college campus don't care.

The thousands of UGA athletes who have received college scholarships from those millions of SEC dollars care quite a bit.

You don't have to donate shite.

Earning more money through bowl payouts pays for your new indoor practice facility, your new athletic student study center, your new locker room, etc.

All things potential recruits want to see which therefore increases your chances of signing better players and amounts to more wins on the field.

It's not rocket science.

All trolling aside. I really think all conferences are the same. Some really good teams. Some really bad ones

Except for big 12. Just a bunch of gimmick bullshite teams

I agree but it won't get two teams in the playoff. So what's the point ? Espn and west coast libs won't let that happen again

What about 2003 Auburn? You're saying you can never imagine a scenario where having the benefit of the doubt in SoS could possibly matter unless it's about two teams? Don't be asinine.

I hope every other single team in the SEC loses every single game they play.

That is all.

And watching Bama win titles every other year and having Florida and Tennessee win out of conference games only hurts our shots with top recruits.

It might matter down the road but right now I don't care about the overall perception of the conference. As long as Bama takes care of business they aren't getting left out so I see no good reason to pull for Tennessee.

And losing to Florida State and Clemson helps?

The top two recruits in the state of Georgia may end up in the ACC. Trevor Lawrence absolutely is seeing as he is going to Clemson. Justin Fields may end up in Tallahassee.

How is that good for Georgia?

ETA: Almost 30% of Clemson's current recruiting class is from Georgia. Florida State's class has 4 kids from Georgia as well. That's almost a quarter of their class.

Plenty of teams outside the SEC have incredible facilities. The B1G has sucked for years, and Ohio State recruits better than anyone other than Bama.

The conference doesn't allow any grad to call a game for a school he attended. Period.

I'm constantly amazed at the stupidity of these ref arguments, though. Thanks for the laugh.
